When singer Bettina Mischke and keyboard player Roland Grosch decided to found Jazzamor in 2001 they perhaps did not imagine that their minimalistic lounge arrangements would take off so quickly. Two albums in three years have highlighted their productivity as they firm out their smoothe 60s jazzy sounds in Europe's main languages. The albums' commercial success have decided the pair on plunging into the live circuit with the same passion they brought to their recordings.
In 2006 they released their third studio album "Travel... (In Order Not To Arrive)". A trip around the world in music. Each song is placed at a special setting in the world. Sometimes it's the language, other times it's an instrument, a rhythm or a story that brings us on a journey to a distant country or a city. Sometimes it's just a wishful dream, other times tales of being there.

Icy
Jazzamor Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I saw a picture of my frozen life
Despair , i saw it painted across frozen skies
The rest of my heart in frozen times
Now my bed is cold - you left me out here in the cold
I saw icy pieces of my broken heart
Icy-icy
I heard you whisper all your frozen lies
I swear i heard you laughing in the desert ice
I saw you watch me with frozen eyes
All i feel is cold - you left me out here in the cold
I saw icy pieces of my broken heart
I saw icy pieces of my broken heart
Icy-icy
The song Icy by Jazzamor portrays a sense of coldness and despair as the lyrics describe imagery of frozen skies, icy pieces of a broken heart, and the feeling of being left out in the cold. The chorus "I saw icy pieces of my broken heart" emphasizes the idea of a shattered heart that has been frozen in time. The reference to frozen lies and laughing in the desert ice suggests a feeling of betrayal and deceit. The line "Now my bed is cold - you left me out here in the cold" brings the idea home of being left alone and abandoned.
The song's theme of coldness could also symbolize emotional detachment or the loss of feeling. It could represent the struggle of navigating emotionally difficult situations and trying to find a way to heal, even when the pain seems to have frozen in time.
Overall, the lyrics of Icy create a sense of melancholy and hopelessness, yet there is still something beautiful and captivating about the way it has been written and performed.
