He really loves those sharp 7's over the minor chords and dropping into the minor chords from the flat 2nd. His sense of melody is unmatched I think even to this day. He effortlessly flows over the chord changes like it's nothing to him. When you actually dissect this stuff phrase by phrase you can really see the magic in the note selection. He was amazing.

My teacher played this song on an old 78rpm record 50 years ago, it blew me away. My teacher knew django, jammed with him, and put his music to musical arrangements. Also he had a signed autograph picture in his studio!!

I did it exactly two years ago:-D the thing is im lefthanded and learned it autodidact on a right handed guitar. Not easy, but i dont want to learn it lefthanded after nearly 25 years of playing classical guitar. I changed to jazz because its sounds unique and is much more fun playing this technique:-)

Though it would be decades later, and after years of listening to guitar legends such as Jimi Hendrix, someone told me about Django Reinhardt who played guitar with just 2 fingers. I was taught guitar basics by my older brother as a teenager. He showed me how to play lead guitar with just 2 fingers so I wouldn't get frustrated, and I've played guitar that way all my life. Django is an inspiration to all who might otherwise give up on learning a musical instrument. Just pick one up and pour your heart and soul into it. You'll be amazed at what you can do!

I discovered Django Reinhardt on a jazz radio program on public radio in the 90’s. He and Stefane Grappelli just wowed me. Django was quite a musician and he worked with a lot of musicians. I recall Grappelli performing a song he had written in memory of Django. It was simply beautiful and moving.

Saw him twice last time on his 80th birthday tour - a revelation was the piano he played in the interval - just strolled on stage , sat solo jam - a complete genius.

I discovered Stephane's piano playing when I was living in New York (several years after I'd discovered him as a violinist) and came across a vinyl LP of his 1950's piano sessions in Paris. I loved this album! - and played it over and over and over again. The two tunes "Lookin' at You" and "Vous qui passez sans me voir" were especially memorable (these sessions are still available on CD, I believe). This playing takes me to a world I would like to live in.
