Beauvoir was born in Chicago to parents of Haitian background. He played drums as a child and switched to bass as a teenager. He was Gary U.S. Bond's musical director at age 14; following this, he sang in the doo wop group The Flamingos. He gained his first music experiences with these groups touring the US performing at Dick Clark revival concerts.[1] He moved to New York City during the punk rock explosion and answered a newspaper ad for a bassist, which led to his joining The Plasmatics for two albums. While with the Plasmatics and subsequently, Beauvoir sported a conspicuous blond mohawk.
He left the group after their release Beyond the Valley of 1984 to join Steve Van Zandt's Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul for two albums. Following this, he launched a solo career with the album Drums Along the Mohawk, released in the U.K. on Virgin Records in 1986. That same year, the track "Feel the Heat" was chosen by Sylvester Stallone for his film, Cobra.[1] The song was a hit, charting Top 10 across Europe and Australia and reaching No. 73 on the Billboard Hot 100.[2] On the strength of the single, Drums Along the Mohawk was released in the U.S. and peaked at No. 93 on the Billboard 200.[3] Jean Beauvoir's success has always been much greater in the rest of the world than in the US.
Beauvoir released several further solo albums since the late 1980s, mostly released in Europe. Since then he has also written, produced for, and performed with acts such as Kiss, John Waite, Ramones, Nona Hendryx, The Pretenders, Deborah Harry, Lionel Richie, Doro and N'SYNC. He has appeared on over 100 albums over the past two decades. He has also fronted the bands Voodoo X and Crown of Thorns, which was originally signed to Interscope Records for a much publicized record breaking deal. Both these hard rock groups have achieved significant success in the rest of the world. Beauvoir has earned a multitude of Platinum and Gold awards for his work in the US and abroad.
In addition to his film music work with Sylvester Stallone, his credit list includes the title tracks or theme songs for the movies Pet Semetary from Stephen King's novel, Wes Craven’s blockbuster Shocker, Flawless (with Robert De Niro), School of Rock (with Jack Black), Christmas with the Kranks (with Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Aykroyd), The Guilty (with Bill Pullman), Rock 'n' Roll High School Forever, Berlin Nights (with Gabriela Tscherniack), RV (with Robin Williams) and Unthinkable (with Samuel Jackson).

Amazing
Jean Beauvoir Lyrics

'Cause I'm fighting this conscience of mine
Makes you think that I've pushed you aside
Can't we take it in stride maybe
Darling, hear me out
Some things I just can't say aloud
The thought of needing breaks me down
One hundred thousand times amazing
How I want to tell you some times
Not to worry, that all will be fine
Then your heart tells you I've left us behind
Let's just take it in stride maybe
Darling, hear me out
Some things I just can't say aloud
The thought of needing breaks me down
Even though I know in you I've found
One hundred thousand times amazing
With all my knowledge of you, I know that you're so right
And you're implanted livin' so deep in my head
I just can't sleep at night, though I want to let myself ago
See all of me in harmony but it's just not easy
Darling, hear me out
Some things I just can't say aloud
The thought of needing breaks me down
Even though I know in you I've found
One hundred thousand times amazing
In Jean Beauvoir's song "Amazing," the lyrics express the struggles that the singer is facing in his relationship. He admits to being cautious at times and fighting with his own conscience, which makes it seem like he has pushed his partner aside. Despite this, the singer believes that they should take things in stride, and he tries to convince his partner to hear him out. However, some things he cannot say aloud, and the thought of needing his partner is breaking him down. Despite this, he acknowledges that he has found someone who is one hundred thousand times amazing.
The lyrics then go on to describe how the singer wants to reassure his partner that everything will work out fine, but his partner's heart tells them otherwise. This leads the singer to feel guilty and unable to sleep at night. He acknowledges that he knows his partner is right and deeply ingrained in his mind, but finding harmony is just not easy. Despite this, he still believes that his partner is one hundred thousand times amazing.
Overall, the song is about the struggles that come with relationships, the difficulty of expressing one's emotions, and the guilt that comes with not being able to meet one's partner's needs or fully understand them.

All along, we knew it wasn't right
We were standing sound, losing sight
Play a game that isn't fair
And your partner's left standing there
At least you know you dream alone
Sometimes feel your heart's made of stone
Have to try to move your chessmen right
But your feelings, you're still trying to fight
Then you start to
Feel the heat, feel the heat
As you feel the time is turning
Then your mind just starts to
Feel the heat, feel the heat
As you feel the time is turning
Then your mind just
Starts to feel the heat
Listen, confusion has a lonely game
Nothing answered, things left the same
You still don't understand my stand
How can I explain to someone else
That I'm starting to
Feel the heat, feel the heat
As you feel the time is turning
Then your mind just starts to
Feel the heat, to feel the heat
As you feel the time is turning
Then your mind just starts
To feel the heat, yeah
You feel that somehow
There's something wrong with your life
You feel that you're
Just not up for the fight
Should you hold your head
High as you can, come on
Bang bang, shoot em up
And not for all reality
But what about your dignity
Then you start
Feeling the heat, feel the heat
Come on and feel it
You feel the heat
Just feel the heat
You gotta feel the heat, yeah
Feel the heat, feel the heat
