Jebediah Lyrics

Something fast or something good?
I don't think that you're all there
Like a line misunderstood
When I grow up I'll be indestructible
Taking revenge out on all my enemies
When I get young I'll be bored and over it
Now I'm waiting for the lights to change
All these colors look the same
Hey! Where are you going now?
I was still talking to you!
Don't tell me, you're out of time
Any old excuse will do
When I grow up I'll be indestructible
Taking revenge out on all my enemies
When I get young I'll be bored and over it
Wasting away all the best years of my life
Now I'm waiting for the lights to change
All these colors look the same
Hey! What are you looking for?
Something fast or something good?
I don't think that you're all there
Like a line misunderstood
Now I'm bored
Now I'm bored
Now I'm bored and over it
The lyrics of Jebediah's song "High" convey an overall theme of boredom and feeling unfulfilled. The first stanza expresses a sense of confusion and miscommunication with someone who is searching for something but not quite sure what they want. The use of the metaphor "like a line misunderstood" captures the idea that perhaps the person is struggling to articulate what they want in life, and this is creating frustration.
The chorus of the song provides a glimpse into two conflicting desires: the desire for invincibility and the desire for apathy. The idea of being "indestructible" implies a desire for power and control, whereas the idea of being "bored and over it" suggests a desire to disconnect and withdraw from the world.
The final stanza reinforces the sense of boredom and frustration, with the repetition of the phrase "Now I'm bored." This repetition and the use of the word "over it" in the final line suggests that the singer has given up on trying to find fulfillment and is resigned to feeling numb and disengaged from life.
