It doesn't really matter, they were in my room
No there no here to save you
No there no here to save you
No there no here to save you
No there not
They tricked me one by one
They stripped me one by one
They fixed me one by one
Invaders picked me
I thought that I should go now but I just had to stay
Stick around and listen to what they had to say
No we're not going to hurt you
No there no here to save you
No there no here to save you
No we're not
One by one
They tricked me one by one
They stripped me one by one
They fixed me one by one
Invaders picked me
Oh, arrggghhh, oh
Invaders, invaders, invaders, invaders
Ooh, I like their eyes, like buggy flies
Their purple skies, where no one dies,
Their silken hair, and what they wear
Without a care for nothing
Say that you care but you fucking don't
And you say that you care but you fucking don't
And you say that you care but you fucking don't
And you say that you care but you fucking don't
Bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah
(Watch out for invaders)
In Jebediah's song "Invaders," the singer describes an encounter with extraterrestrial beings that enter their room one evening or afternoon. The singer shares their experience of being tricked, stripped, and fixed one by one by the invaders. Despite the fear, the singer decides to stay and listen to what the aliens have to say. The beings assure the singer that they do not intend to harm them, but it is unclear whether the words are sincere or not. The singer describes their fascination with the aliens' appearance, they admire their buggy eyes, purple skies, silken hair, and carefree apparel. The song concludes with a repetition of "Say that you care, but you fucking don't" and a warning to "Watch out for invaders."
The song captures the themes of paranoia, fascination, and deception. The singer is unsure whether to trust the invaders or not, and the lyrics showcase the struggle between curiosity and fear. The details mentioned about the aliens, such as their buggy eyes and silken hair, emphasize the otherworldly nature of the beings and the singer's fascination with them. The repetition of "Say that you care, but you fucking don't" suggests a level of cynicism towards promises of safety or help from others.
