They released their debut song, "Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby), a collaboration with Vanilla Ice in 2010. It hit #1 in the Irish singles chart and #2 in the UK singles chart. They then released their second single, a cover of Blink-182's "All the Small Things", and their debut album, Planet Jedward, later that same year. Planet Jedward reached number one on the Irish Album Chart and number 17 on the UK Album Chart. It was also certified platinum in Ireland.
Since then, Jedward have toured extensively and appeared on various television shows around the world.
In 2011, with their entry called "Lipstick", they competed in The Eurovision Song Contest (in Dusseldorf, Germany), securing 8th place. They beat both the UK's entry (Blue) and Germany's entry (Lena) in the process. They returned to the competition the following year with "Waterline" and performed in Baku, Azerbaijan. After qualifying from their semi-final, they came in 19th place in the grand final.
They have recorded four albums: Planet Jedward (all covers), Victory and Young Love (original songs written for them), and their latest release, Voice Of A Rebel (all songs written and produced by John and Edward themselves).
Under Pressure
Jedward Lyrics

Let's kick it!
Pressure, pushing down on me
Pressing down on you, no man ask for
Under pressure, that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
All right stop
Collaborate and listen
Jedward's back with a brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Flow like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop?
Yo - I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll go
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle
Pressure, pushing down on me
Pressing down on you, no man ask for
Dance - Bum rush the speaker that booms
I'm killin' your brain like a poisonous mushroom
Deadly - when I play a dope melody
Anything less than the best is a felony
Love it or leave it
You better gain way
You better hit bull's eye
The kid don't play
If there was a problem
Yo I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it
Pressure, pushing down on me
Pressing down on you, no man ask for
Under pressure, that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
That's okay
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about,
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow takes me higher
Pressure on people, people on streets
Ice Ice Baby
Ice Ice Baby
Now that the party is jumpin'
With the bass kicked in, and the Vegas all pumpin'
Quick to the point, to the point no fakin'
Cooking MC's like a pound of bacon
Burning them if you ain't quick and nimble
I go crazy when I hear a cymbal
And a hi-hat with a supped up tempo
I'm on a roll - it's time to go solo
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Pressure
Rollin' - in my 5.0
With my ragtop down so my hair can blow
The girlies on standby
Waiting just to say "hi"
Did you stop?
No - I just drove by
Kept on - pursuing to the next stop
I busted a left and I'm heading to the next block
That block was dead
Yo - so I continued to A1A Beachfront Avenue.
Pressure, pushing down on me
Pressing down on you, no man ask for
Under pressure, that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
That's okay
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about,
Watching some good friends
Screaming "Let me out"
Pray tomorrow takes me higher
Pressure on people, people on streets
Ice Ice Baby
Ice Ice Baby (pump it, pump it)
Ice Ice Baby (pump it, pump it)
Ice Ice Baby
Too cold
Too cold
The lyrics to Jedward's song Under Pressure address the intense emotional, psychological and social burdens of life that can cause a splitting of households, homelessness and emotional distress. The chorus repeats the phrase "pressure, pushing down on me/pressing down on you, no man ask for" which signifies the weight of this pressure on individuals. The bridge "It's the terror of knowing/What this world is about, Watching some good friends scream/Let me out" address the fear and trepidation of trying to make sense of the world amid the struggles and pain people face. The use of Ice Ice Baby at the end of the song can be seen as a nod to the pressures faced by Vanilla Ice during his rise to fame and the pressures faced by anyone in the public eye. The song is an exploration of the difficulties faced by individuals, families, and communities in a society that can be unforgiving.
