Ain't that good news
Man, ain't that news
Baby is comin' home tomorrow
Ain't that news
Man, ain't that news
I got a letter just the other day
And she wants me to meet her at the station
Ain't that good news
Man, ain't that news
In the letter she told me he still loved me
Ain't that good news
Man, ain't that news
In the letter she told me she loved me
Ain't that news
Man, ain't that news
She said he's sorry that she left
Found out she don't want nobody else
She said he wants me all to herself now
Ain't that good news
Man, ain't that news
Ain't that news
Ain't that good news
Man, I know that's good news
My baby's coming home tomorrow
Ain't that good news
Man, ain't that news
I'm gonna have her a party at the station
Ain't that good news
Man, ain't that news
Have a party at the station
Ain't that news
Man, ain't that news
And I can't wait to get her home
Where we can finally be alone
Disconnect my telephone now
Ain't that good news
Man, ain't that news
Ain't that news
Ain't that good news
Man, man, man ain't that news
My baby's coming home tomorrow
Ain't that good news
Man, ain't that news
Good news
Good news
Ain't that good news
Ain't that news
The lyrics to Jeff Beck, Les Paul, and Sam Cooke's song "Good News" tells the happy tale of a man who's been missing his significant other but received a letter that she's coming home to him. The song celebrates the reunion of the couple with the man making preparations for their reunion. The lyrics express pure joy with a hint of anticipation and longing for the woman's return. The singer in the song is thrilled to have his lover back and plans to celebrate their reunion at the train station before bringing her home.
The song's structure is simple, allowing the listener to focus on the lyrics and get lost in the story. The repeated phrase, "Ain't that good news, man, ain't that news" is catchy, making it easy to sing along, and emphasizes the joyous mood of the track. The song showcases traditional rock 'n' roll elements with its rhythm and guitar riffs. "Good News" is the type of song that you can listen to when you're feeling down, and it will put you in a good mood.

The original of this was probably was done on the Ampex 8 Track recorder that Les Paul helped developed, hence they were able to put a new rhythm section behind a Sam Cooke Vocal.
