Let's Go Rain
Jeff Tweedy Lyrics

Jump to: Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh, I've heard about Noah's flood
Washed away a world of sin
Some say destruction is an act of love
And think it should happen again

Oh, let's go rain
Let's go rain again
Oh, let's go rain
Let's go rain again

Now once upon a time I was a Christian
I didn't know I didn't need to know
When the sky speaks I'm going to listen
And when it's pissin' I'll just figure I'm alone

Oh, let's go rain
Let's go rain again
Oh, come on rain
Let's go rain again

Oh I should
Build a wooden ark
Wouldn't you rather live
On an ocean of guitars?

Aw, come on rain
Let's go rain again
Let's go rain
Let's go rain again

Ooh, ooh, ooh

Maybe you're not a believer
Maybe you don't have a choice
Or maybe it's a fever that you haven't caught yet
'Cause you haven't met Scott McCaughey

Oh, let's go rain

Let's go rain again
Oh, let's go rain
Still no rain again

Damn it's incredible how good his voice still is

Agreed. I keep asking Santa for a Jeff Tweedy Lullaby album. Still waiting.

Patrick Hawkinson

He paces himself these days. But his voice has definitely aged like a fine wine. Much better than his early years, and he even talks about it a bit in the book.

With the kind of music he do, I don't think his voice can ever fail him. Weathered is like more soulful.

Adri Rizo

I absolutely loved the clouds with the ribbons. I had no idea this man existed, but I liked his performance and that his kids where with him. Ohhh! And then the animals came out. Quite the school performance. Really enjoyed it...oddly enough.

Infinite Jester

I love Jeff Tweedy and Wilco so much. We are all lucky to have artists like him to keep us united and sane during these disturbing times. By the way, the whole family is wonderful. That's Sammy on back-up vocals and Spencer on drums. Their mother Sue used to own a live music club in Chicago back in Wilco's early days. I believe the young fella in the jeans jacket playing guitar is in the band The Blisters with Spencer.

Delaney Stewart

Nah, that is just Liam Cunningham, an old family friend. He used to be part of the legendary Kids These Days Band, and Marrow. Great talent!

New stage name: Just Liam Cunningham. 😀 @Delaney Stewart

Savannah Biz

Yes. Jeff is awesome. I'm looking forward to hearing this whole album, "Warm"

Steve Faure

This is a great performance and great TV. It's a last gasp of broadcast television. Very sweet--
