As a conductor, Tyzik is well regarded for his innovative yet accessible programming. He's noted for teaching the RPO how to swing, and for his easy rapport with audiences.

i totally love the 80s jazz-funk boogie sound, stuff like Change did. The closest thing I can think of that has all this type of sound bundled into one playlist is Paradise FM from GTA Vice City Stories.

Do you like Jeff Tyzik ? His early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Radiance came out in '82, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Doc Severinsen, but I think Jeff has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '84, Jeff released this, Jammin’ in Manhattan, his most accomplished album. I think his undisputed masterpiece is "Killer Joe”, a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But that’s because they can’t, but they should try to at least understand the repetitive “Killer Joe”, because it’s not just about the growing number of psychopathic Wall Street traders and the superficial lifestyle of NY, it’s also a personal statement about his success in NY and how the city still has good aspects.
