The thing I thought was well done about this episode... was that many people KNEW this was going to happen. And they still managed to make it surprising, mostly because we didn't actually think they'd go through with it. But they did.

And then I made the mistake of thinking, "well, I assume the worst is over, right?". Oh, it was just BEGINNING.

7:10
Ironwood: " Ozpin. The girl. I can explain!"
Oz: " You brought your army to my kingdom James. Use it."

Such perfect music for that moment.

Even without watching the video, I can remember every frame that happens around the 2:46 mark going onwards.

God I'm never going to get over what this episode did to me.

Cinder is evil, but a genius. She staged the train incident as a probing attack, and once she found out what she was dealing with. Made a plan that cut off all of Vales means of support. All our "heroes" could do was mitigate damage.

@Karlos1234ify

Exactly.

@lordviggo5

+xertris The best thing about Cinder is that she didn't plan everything out from the beginning. She thought up good outlines, and then used every chance she got. She started not knowing Yang would be the one in the final round or Penny being a robot. Dispite that, she used both of them as keys to put the plan into action.

+Sir of Coffee Exactly. She's not a master of long-term scheming per se, but she is a master of improvisation.

The train attack was not supposed to happen that early. There's a scene where either Cinder, Emerald or Mercury (I can't remember which) says that it is too early as the alarms are sounding for the breach. Also, the train was not stocked properly and the White Fang were still loading supplies. I expect Cinder meant for it to be used during the time this episode shows. This would mean more Grimm in Vale as well as reinforcements from the White Fang on foot and in piloted Paladins.

@bigfatcarp93

Damien Turtlerma Actually, she only intended it for a few days later (V3 is months later), but it was supposed to happen when all the Huntsmen and trainees were out of the kingdom on missions. Vale was supposed to be a lot more helpless.
