One more time just before you hit the road
Come back baby, let's talk it over one more time
One more time, one more time
Let's talk it over one more time
Come back baby, let's talk it over one more time
The lyrics to Jefferson Airplane's song "Come Back Baby" are a plea for a lover to stay with the singer just a little bit longer before leaving. The repeating line "come back baby, baby please don't go" expresses the singer's desperation and desire to have their partner remain with them. The following lines "one more time just before you hit the road," and "let's talk it over one more time" suggest that the singer is not ready to say goodbye and there is still something that needs to be discussed.
The repetition of the phrase "one more time" emphasizes the singer's urgency and emphasizes the importance of having one more conversation before the partner leaves. Overall, the lyrics suggest that there is some unresolved conflict or issue that needs to be resolved before the partner departs. However, despite the singer's pleading, it is unclear whether their partner will ultimately choose to stay or leave.
