But everyone changes and forever is a myth
People are dynamic and always evolving, and the idea of a 'forever' friendship is unrealistic

A lot of them'll leave but only a few you're gonna miss
As people come and go in our lives, we may only develop close connections with a select few

School is the place where I did my growing
School is a place where we learn and develop as individuals

They fill your brain to overflowing
Through education, we can expand our knowledge and broaden our horizons

They tell you this is all stuff you need to be knowing
In school, we are taught what is deemed important for us to learn in order to succeed in life

Just when I got to like it it was time to be going
We may only realize the value of something once it's gone and it's time to move on

The world is the place where it all happens
Life and all its experiences occur within the context of the world

They draw lines on it and call it a map
Through human-made constructs like maps and borders, we attempt to make sense of the world

In between every line's a different flag flapping
Within these borders lie diverse cultures, perspectives and ways of life - all represented by different flags

Six billion people all taking turns eating in a napkin
Despite our differences, we are all part of the same human experience, living on the same planet

Animals are critters just like you and me
As animals ourselves, we share many similarities with the creatures we coexist with

The only difference is that they don't worry
Animals live in the moment and don't worry about the future or the past like humans do

About things that they can't smell or see
Animals rely primarily on their instinct and senses to navigate the world around them

So we buy pants and deodorants and claim not to be
As humans, we often try to distance ourselves from our animal nature by engaging in complex behaviors and using products to mask our bodily functions

Songs are just something to waste your time
Music is often seen as a form of entertainment or a way to pass the time

I listen to yours and you listen to mine
Music is a shared experience that connects people in unique ways

Before we know it the day's gone by
Music has a way of making time fly and can serve as a means of escape from reality

So is everything else to do whatever makes you feel fine
Ultimately, we should all pursue what makes us happy and fulfilled in life

God's just a story someone made up long ago
Religion and the concept of God are human constructs and can be interpreted and understood in different ways

Before they had books and TV shows
Religion originated as an attempt to explain the world before the development of more advanced forms of knowledge and communication

I don't believe in him and I ain't afraid to say so
Belief in God is a personal choice and should be respected regardless of what one chooses to believe

But it's hard not to be superstitious despite all you know
Even those who don't believe in God may still feel inclined towards superstition or belief in the unknown

Everyone's born and everyone dies
Birth and death are common experiences that mark the beginning and end of human life

Everyone has a time and wonders why
Despite being a universal experience, the concept of mortality remains a mystery and a source of wonder for many

The ocean's blue so is the sky
The world is full of simple beauties and marvels, present in even the most ordinary things we take for granted

The old lady cries, the new baby cries and sighs
Regardless of age, we all experience the full spectrum of human emotions and are bound by our shared humanity

Kisses are weird but they can be fun
Physical affection is a natural and pleasurable aspect of human interaction

Instead of shaking hands it's like shaking tongues
Kissing is a more intimate and personal form of greeting than a simple handshake

I wish I got to do it more when I was young
As we grow older, we may lose opportunities for simple joys like kissing and physical affection

I hate going once a month without kissing anyone
Lack of physical affection can be a source of frustration and loneliness for some people

Dreams are weird but they can be fun too
Dreams can be strange and nonsensical, but they can also be entertaining and enjoyable

They happen more often than kisses it's true
While physical affection is important, dreams occur far more frequently and are a regular part of life

In some I was naked and in some I flew
Dreams can be vivid and bizarre, with no real continuity or logical explanation

I wonder if you're dreaming about me when I'm dreaming about you
