Grant performed as a musician for a time in her early teens, but stopped due to a bout of stage fright, and did not return to performing until her early 20s when she played some shows with Heavy Blinkers. She then released an independent EP, Jenn Grant and Goodbye Twentieth Century, in 2005.
She collaborated on her debut album, Orchestra for the Moon, with such artists as Ron Sexsmith, Heavy Blinkers, Matt Mays and Jill Barber, and later toured Germany and Canada in support of the album, including as an opening act for The Weakerthans.
She later began recording her second album, Echoes, on a farm in rural Ontario in 2008. The album was produced by Jonathan Goldsmith and engineered by Walter Sobczak at The Studio at Puck's Farm. Her voice was also featured in the song "We Made a Pact" by Hey Rosetta on their 2008 album Into Your Lungs (and around in your heart and on through your blood). Echoes was released in 2009.
In 2010 and 2011, she collaborated with Buck 65 on several tracks, including "Paper Airplane", "Cold Steel Drum", "Days Go By" and a cover of Leonard Cohen/'s "Who By Fire", on his 20 Odd Years series of EPs. Late in 2010, she also released a four-song EP, Songs for Siigoun, which featured a cover of John Denver's "Annie's Song".
She released her third full-length album, Honeymoon Punch, in early 2011. Her fourth album, The Beautiful Wild, followed in 2012, and her fifth album, Compostela, was released on October 21, 2014.
She continues to paint, including designing some of her own album covers.
Dreamer
Jenn Grant Lyrics

Ain't it wonderful feeling alright
So I tickle up your backbone
And at the break of day you sink into dream, you dreamer
And at the break of day you sink into a dream, you dreamer
You dreamer, dreamer
Oh, you dreamer
You dreamer, you dreamer
You dreamer, you dreamer
You dreamer, you dreamer
You dreamer, you dreamer
On a date by a chocolate lake, down by the rotary
Past town at the edge, looking down at butterflies
And at the break of day you sink into a dream, you dreamer
And at the break of day you sink into a dream, you dreamer
You dreamer
You dreamer, you dreamer
In Jenn Grant's song "Dreamer," the lyrics paint a vivid picture of a dreamy relationship. The opening line, "And with a faint taste of cigarettes you write Hallelujah songs," suggests that the singer is with a musician or songwriter who is inspired by their love. The use of "Hallelujah" suggests a reverential or religious feeling to this love. The next line, "Ain't it wonderful feeling alright," shows how happy and content they are in each other's company.
The following line, "So I tickle up your backbone," adds a playful and intimate quality to their relationship. They seem to have a deep understanding of each other, shown by the repeated line, "You dreamer, you dreamer." The image of sinking into a dream at dawn suggests the lover is a dreamer, both in their artistic pursuits and as a person. The excursions to a chocolate lake and watching butterflies together allude to the whimsical and fantastical nature of their relationship.
Overall, "Dreamer" paints a picture of a romantic companionship that's supportive, imaginative, and full of playful intimacy. The love shared between the singer and the dreamer is a deep, spiritual kind of love that's full of appreciation and awe for the other person.

I just discovered "Heartland" on Cozi-TV.
It's been on the air, in Canada for 16 years!
Love the horses, and beautiful scenery in Alberta!
I lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba for eleven months, in July 1975, to June 1976. Wished I had lived in Winnipeg longer.
Canadian TV series are better than some American TV series. I grew up in Michigan, and Ohio.
