Taking a few years away from the music scene to work on new material, Jennifer released her second studio album, Positively Somewhere, in September 2001. This album featured a more mature pop-rock sound, but went virtually unnoticed in the U.S. after its release due to lack of promotion on her label's part. It wasn't until its European and Asian release in the summer of 2002 that it achieved some success, thanks to the modest hit "Stranded", a cover of the Plumb song. Following the release of this album, Paige parted ways with her label, Edel. As a result, her former label released a compilation record in 2003 called Flowers - The Hits Collection, which comprised all of Paige's singles alongside a selection of other material lifted from her first two albums.
It wasn't until April 2008 that Jennifer Paige released her follow-up album, Best Kept Secret. Released in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in 2008 through her new label GLOR Music Production GmbH, it included the singles "Wasted", "Underestimated", and the Nick Carter collaboration "Beautiful Lie".
A few years later, Paige collaborated with Coury Palermo for a couple of EPs but returned to her solo ventures for her first Christmas album, Holiday. Released in November 2012, it featured original seasonal material along with reworkings of old classics.
Following a successful kickstarter campaign, Paige released her fifth studio album in March 2017. Originally called Daydreamer, it was eventually renamed Starflower, and includes the single "The Devil's in the Details".
Always You
Jennifer Paige Lyrics

I wonder where it's sailing to
Is someone waiting in some other harbor
These fantasies they blow my way
Like sirens to a fool
And in the stillness of my soul
I keep returning to
Always you
You know I live on the wind where love runs free
I come back to you
Always you
And when I fall to earth you're always there for me
I come back, I come back, I come back to you
Looking at myself 'til the mirror shatters
I hear a madman sing his tune (he says)
It's only love that ever really matters
I wake up in this dream tonight
That's when I see the truth
Of all the faces in my heart
There's only one I choose
[Chorus]
Something in my soul never changes baby
You're the one that's keeping me sane
There is no other that I have ever conceived
Could be my lover and never leave when I run free
Could be my lover, could be my lover
The lyrics to Jennifer Paige's song "Always You" seem to speak to the singer's internal dilemma, as she grapples with different fantasies that come her way, but ultimately keeps returning to the same person. The imagery of a mystery ship out on the water, sailing to some unknown harbor, symbolizes the singer's own sense of uncertainty and longing. The reference to sirens also adds to this sense of danger and temptation, as the singer seems to be drawn to different possibilities.
However, despite these distractions, the singer always returns to the same person, referred to as "you" in the chorus. The singer describes herself as someone who lives on the wind where love runs free, but even when she falls to earth, there is always this person who is there for her. The line "Of all the faces in my heart, there's only one I choose" reinforces the idea that the singer is choosing this person over any other possibilities.
The bridge of the song emphasizes the idea that this person is the stable force in the singer's life, keeping her sane and grounded. The repetition of "could be my lover" adds a sense of longing for this person to be more than just a stable influence, but it also reinforces the fact that this person is crucial to the singer's happiness.
Overall, the lyrics to "Always You" convey a sense of restlessness and temptation, but also a strong sense of devotion and loyalty to one particular person. The idea of returning to this person is a recurrent theme throughout the song, suggesting that this person is the singer's true home and source of comfort.
