Phillips began her professional musical journey in 1999, after graduating from BYU, when she independently released her first album. Eleven years later, as one of the top-selling artists with Deseret Book's music label, Jenny has become known throughout the world for her powerful presentations and music for the youth of the church.
Phillips has long had a vision of sharing LDS music in all parts of the world. She says, "LDS music had such a huge impact on my life as I was growing up. Since a young age, I had a vision of making LDS music available outside of the US. It has been one of the most fulfilling things I've been able to work on. I want members of the church everywhere to have access to this kind of music in their native tongue." Jenny has performed her music in 16 countries, and her music has been translated into 15 different languages. Her music has been performed by LDS youth groups in more than 30 nations.
During the creation of her second and third albums, Phillips formed a choir to tour with her. They began small—only eight members performing twice a month, but by the time Phillips released her fourth album, Journey toward Zion, in 2004, the group had grown to 140 rotating members performing more than 200 times each year. The Jenny Phillips choir has recorded on over a dozen CDs including EFY and Hilary Weeks projects.
In addition to her five full-length albums, Phillips has released four best-selling albums for LDS youth.
Jenny lives in North Salt Lake with her husband and four children.
Rescue me
Jenny Phillips Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And all I can do is hold on
I am weak
But here in redeeming arms
You show me how I'm strong
You change me
Just by your loving me so deep
And somehow something better
Wells up inside of me
[Chorus]
You rescue me (Lord and deliverer)
You carry me (Master, life-giver)
Maker of worlds
King of all kings
You cover me (Shepherd and Savior)
With mighty grace (Redeemer, creator)
And whisper I'm safe
You've already won (God's mighty son)
You rescue me
I know now
My story will end with you
My knees will bend
And you will extend your arms
And you will make me new
[Chorus]
Lord and Deliverer
Master, life-giver
Shepherd and Savior
Redeemer, Creator
[Chorus]
In the song "Rescue Me," Jenny Phillips sings about how her faith in God has been her savior from life's troubles. She begins by admitting that she is weak and that all she can do is hold on to God, who rescues her from her insecurities and fears. With a sense of vulnerability, she lets the listener know that without God, she would not have been able to overcome her challenges. She then sings about how God's love has changed her, and how his faith in her has enabled her to believe in herself, and to find strength and courage within her. In the chorus, she praises God for being her protector, provider, and comforter. She extols him as the maker of worlds, king of all kings, and the mighty son of God who has already won.

Happened on this video by accident. This is pretty amazing. Better than the original, IMO. Did you do this in a studio? Sounds like it. Good luck to you
