Jeremy Michael Jordan (born November 20, 1984) is an American stage actor and singer. He has performed on Broadway and in television and film, as well as in other theatrical productions. He is best known for the roles of Jack Kelly in the 2012 Newsies: The Musical and Clyde Barrow in the 2011 musical Bonnie & Clyde. He has also appeared on stage in Rock of Ages and West Side Story, on film in Joyful Noise and The Last Five Years, and on television in Law and Order: SVU and Smash. In 1993, Jordan released Try My Love on Giant Records. The album yielded the international hit singles, "The Right Kind Of Love" (#5 Billboard Hot 100 Airplay, #14 Billboard Hot 100 Singles, #4 Billboard Top 40 Mainstream, #22 Billboard Rhythmic Top 40), and "Wannagirl"(#11 Billboard Top 40 Mainstream, #24 Billboard Rhythmic Top 40, #28 Billboard Hot 100). "The Right Kind of Love" was certified platinum selling over a million copies and peaked just inside the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100.[1] Jordan's debut album and Wannagirl were certified gold.[2][3]

Additionally, "My Love Is Good Enough" and "Try My Love" were featured in the film Airborne. "The Right Kind Of Love" music video was featured during the end credits of Beverly Hills, 90210 and was also on the television series' soundtrack. His popularity, music wise, peaked with concerts around the globe.

A remix album, Jeremy The Remix, was released to overseas markets in late 1993.

Since 1994, Jordan transitioned into acting and has appeared in a number of films including Never Been Kissed with Drew Barrymore, as well as independent films Leaving Las Vegas with Nicolas Cage, Julian Po with Christian Slater, and Nowhere directed by Gregg Araki.

In 2009, Jordan released a new song entitled "Forgotten People." The song and video are about homeless people.

In case anyone is wondering; The original version of this is by Trey Lorenz. It was released as a B-side on the European versions of his single "Someone To Hold" in 1992. Jeremy's version wasn't released until 1993. Both versions were written, arranged and produced by Keith Thomas. For the Jeremy version, they actually kept most of Trey's background harmonies in (You can clearly hear him in the verses on the "I Want A Girl" parts) but added backings by Audrey Wheeler, Chris Rodriguez, Cindy Mizelle and Emanuel Officer. Both versions are almost identical productionwise, but the Jeremy version features an extra breakdown and extra / different vocal arrangement starting at the 3:15 mark. Both versions are great!

The Trey version wasn't a hit anywhere. It wasn't released as a single and did not make the album. It was an extra track on a CD single. That said, I prefer Trey's version but I like Jeremy's version as well.

I though RKOL was an "aight" song. But shortly after that, JJ came to the movie theater where I worked (former Fine Arts Theater on south Michigan in Chicago). Hadn't seen his video, didn't know him from Adam. But as he sat waiting, he started singing and I complimented him on his voice. He came up, introduced himself, and we spent the next 10 minutes talking about music (which I was studying at the time) and his story. This guy deserves respect and deserves to have had a better musical career.

Ironically enough I could sing on the level of Jeremy Jordan along with Joey Lawrence (Yes the guy from Blossom !!WHOA!!). I had the hair and the looks, but was denied the opportunity to take a shot. I'd an uncle who was in the music business that felt I just wasn't ready and while I feel he was right, I wished everyday that I'd been given a chance to go beyond what my uncle got to see and hear from me.
