Fear Not This Night
Jeremy Soule ft Asja Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Fear not this night. You will not go astray.
Though shadows fall still the stars..find their way.

Awaken from a quiet sleep. Hear the whispering of the wind.
Awaken as the silence grows in the solitude of the night.
Darkness spreads through all the land and your weary eyes open silently.
Sunsets have forsaken all and must open their eyes now.
Nightmares come when shadows grow... Ice glows and heartbeats slow.

Fear not this night. You will not go astray. Though Shadows fall still the stars find their way.

And you can always be strong.
Lift your voice with the first light of dawn.
Dawn is just a heartbeat away. Hope is just a sunrise away.
Distant song of melody scoring through the night to your heart.
Auroras make circumstance in the solitude of our life.
Pleading silent arias gently grieving in captive misery.
Darkness sings a violent song yet our hope can still rise up.
Nightmares come where shadows grow.
Lift your voice lift your heart.

Fear not this night. You will not go astray.
Though shadows fall still the stars find a way.

And though the night skies fill with blackness.
Fear not risen, hold out and take my hand!

Fear not this night! You will not go astray.
Though shadows fall still the stars find a way!
Fear not this night! You will not go astray. T
hough shadows fall still the stars find a way!
And you can always be strong.
Lift your voice with the first light of dawn!

Dawn is just a heartbeat away...
Home is just a sunrise away...

"In that hour Lúthien came, and standing upon the bridge that led to Sauron's isle she sang a song that no walls of stone could hinder. Beren heard, and he thought that he dreamed; for the stars shone above him, and in the trees nightingales were singing. And in answer he sang a song of challenge that he had made in praise of the Seven Stars, the Sickle of the Valar that Varda hung above the North as a sign for the fall of Morgoth. Then all strength left him and he fell down into darkness.

But Lúthien heard his answering voice, and she sang then a song of greater power. The wolves howled, and the isle trembled. Sauron stood in the high tower, wrapped in his black thought... Therefore he took upon himself the form of a werewolf, and made himself the mightiest that had yet walked the world; and he came forth to win the passage of the bridge. There befell the battle of Huan and Wolf-Sauron... But no wizardry nor spell, neither fang nor venom, nor devil's art nor beast-strength , could overthrow Huan of Valinor; and he took his foe by the throat and pinned him down.

Then Sauron shifted shape, from wolf to serpent, and from monster to his own accustomed form; but he could not elude the grip of Huan without forsaking his body utterly. Ere his foul spirit left its dark house, Luthien came to him, and said that he should be stripped of his raiment of flesh, and his ghost sent quaking back to Morgoth; and she said: 'there everlastingly thy naked self shall endure the torment of his scorn, pierced by his eyes, unless thou yield to me the mastery of thy tower.' Then Sauron yielded himself, and Lúthien took the mastery of the isle and all that was there...

Then Lúthien stood upon the bridge, and declared her power: and the spell was loosed that bound stone to stone, and the gates were thrown down, and the walls opened, and the pits laid bare; and many thralls and captives came forth in wonder and dismay, shielding their eyes against the pale moon light, for they had lain long in the darkness of Sauron. But Beren came not...

Lúthien found him mourning by Felagund. So deep was his anguish that he lay still... Then thinking him already dead she put her arms about him and fell into a dark forgetfulness.
But Beren coming back to the light out of the pits of despair lifted her up, and they looked again upon one another; and the day rising over the dark hills shone upon them."

My favorite song out of the whole of Guild Wars 2. Hits me right in the heart and soul. You can't find a better song that suits the game.

Brings me back to the first time I booted up this game to the first time I killed Zhaitan. What a journey. One of the few games I will forever call 11/10. From the combat system to the amazing level progression to the awesome crafting system to the epic bosses, and to the community that holds a high standard to this day. I love this game.

fk meta as repetitive and boring those last few chapters in the personal story can be. I always make sure to put on headphones and fully enjoy the beuaty of those final moments.

One of Soule's most finest hours and the vocalist here is truly sublime. Awesomely beautiful lyrics by Soesbee.
The combination just stimulates and raises so many powerful emotions and creates strong physical feelings at the same time. Truly brlliant art.

Among my all time favourite pieces of music. I Would like this song to be played at my funeral when they carry the coffin out
