Jericho Jones Lyrics

Findin' my way
I'm countin' the days
What can I say?
I only can offer
What I have to give
I only can offer
Some things are good
Some things are bad
Some things are old
Some things are sad.
We only can offer
What we have to give
We only can offer
What we give.
The lyrics to Jericho Jones's song Mare Tranquilitatas are introspective and contemplative, as the persona reflects on their life journey thus far. The first few lines paint the picture of being lost in a maze, trying to find one's way through life's challenges. The persona is keeping track of time, counting the days as they go by, yet seemingly without direction. They are faced with the question of what to say, perhaps feeling at a loss for words or unable to express themselves fully.
The next part of the lyrics speaks to the idea that we can only offer what we have to give. It is an acknowledgement that we all have limitations and can only give what we possess. The repetition drives home the message of the lyrics, that our offerings are limited by our resources, whether physical, emotional or mental. The last part of the lyrics touch on the idea that life is a mix of good and bad, old and sad. It is a recognition that we experience a multitude of emotions and events throughout our lives.
Overall, the lyrics of Mare Tranquilitatas convey a sense of self-reflection, humility, and acknowledgement of the limitations of the self.
