Right Where You Want Me is more mature than his debut, reflecting his musical and personal growth since he recorded his debut album at age 15. Released by Hollywood Records on September 19, 2006, the album reached number 14 on the Billboard 200. The lead single from the album, Right Where You Want Me, began receiving airplay on July 11, 2006. McCartney released his third album, Departure, on May 20, 2008 in the United States and Canada. Musically, it is a departure from his early works, showing mature themes. The album has reached number 14 on the Billboard 200. The album's lead single Leavin' was released in March 2008, and reached number (10) on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, giving McCartney his highest-charting single to date. The single has been certified platinum by the RIAA selling over than 3 millions copies ,and over 2 millions downloads on iTunes, thus becoming McCartney's highest-certified single as of early 2009. The second single, It's Over, was released on August 26, 2008, and failed to match the success of the lead single, only reaching #42 on the Hot 100. McCartney promoted Departure on a co-headlining tour with Jordin Sparks, which began in August 2008 and ended in September. He also did solo shows at theaters and small venues to support the album while on tour with Sparks.
McCartney re-released Departure on April 7, 2009. The re-release, Departure: Recharged, featured 4 new songs, Body Language, Oxygen, Crash & Burn and In My Veins. The single has peaked at #10 on the Billboard Dance/Club Songs in its 13th week and still rising.
McCartney stated that his fourth album will have a similar sound to Departure but will be more rhythm and blues and urban than his third album. In March 2010, it was announced that Sean Garrett produced three songs for the project and that the album will be released Later in 2010. Jesse is now working on releasing a brand new album called Have It All. Jesse recently filmed a television pilot for a brand new fox show called "Locke and Key"

I end your sentences, you start mine
When I'm wrong, you say that I'm right
I never felt the way I do when I'm with you
But it's been part time
And I feel it comin', we're in twilight
Grey area wants me to choose sides
And this line of questioning is new, out of the blue
Are you all about us? (uh, all about us)
Tell me you're the that one I can trust (that I can trust)
Tell me that forever's never enough (nah, never enough)
That I'm the only one that's gettin' your love
Are you all about us?
(Damn)
Am I all about us? (all about us)
I know that she's someone that I can trust (I can trust)
But commitment somehow feels like giving up (gi-givin' up)
And I love this girl, but do I love her enough
To be all about us?
Are you all about us?
Now I'm tongue-tied
I kiss her lips tryin' to kill time
She tells me to say something and don't lie
My indecision is a clue (yeah)
I'm torn in two
If I had it my way (my way)
We'd stay the same, nothing would have to change (have to change)
But I hear those words like they're on replay (replay)
This line of questioning is new, out of the blue
She says (Hey!)
Are you all about us? (uh, all about us)
Tell me you're the that one I can trust (that I can trust)
Tell me that forever's never enough (nah, never enough)
That I'm the only one that's gettin' your love
Are you all about us? (oooh)
Am I all about us? (all about us)
I know that she's someone that I can trust (I can trust)
But commitment somehow feels like givin' up, oh oh oh (gi-givin' up)
And I love this girl, but do I love her enough (hey hey hey)
To be all about us?
Are you all about us?
Can't nobody love you, baby, like I do (li-like I do)
And you better believe it (better believe it)
But I just need a little more time to think this through
(It's true, it's true, it's me, not you)
Are you all about us? (ah ah ah ah) oh oh oh
Are you all about us? (ah ah ah ah) oh oh oh
Are you all about us, ‘bout us, ‘bout us?
(Damn)
Are you all about us, (hey, hey, hey) ‘bout us?
Are you all about us?
Are you all about us? (uh, all about us)
Tell me you're the that one I can trust (that I can trust)
Tell me that forever's never enough (nah, never enough)
That I'm the only one that's gettin' your love (hey, hey, hey)
Are you all about us? (Damn) Am I all about us? (all about us)
I know that she's someone that I can trust (I can trust)
But commitment somehow feels like givin' up (I'm givin' up, oh)
And I love this girl, but do I love her enough (oh oh oh)
To be all about us? (hey, hey, hey)
Are you all about us?
The lyrics of Jesse McCartney's song "All About Us" depict the struggle to commit to a relationship fully. The song exhibits the singer's inner conflicts about the decision to commit to the relationship or not. The lyrics also indicate that despite being in love with the girl, the singer is still confused about whether he should commit fully to the relationship or not. The line "But commitment somehow feels like giving up" clearly signifies that he is hesitant to let go of his freedom and independence.
Moreover, the lyrics illustrate the girl's desire to be with the singer and her expectation for him to commit. She questions the singer about his commitment to the relationship and whether he is all about them. She seeks validation from him by asking him whether he is the one she can trust or not. In the end, the song leaves the decision of commitment up to the singer, leaving his love's feeling hanging in the balance.
Overall, the song portrays the struggle of commitment, a common theme in romantic relationships. The lyrics showcase the tug-of-war between the desire for love and the fear of losing freedom, leading the singer to question his own commitment.
