When You Wish Upon A Star

Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of their secret longings, oh
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dream comes true
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Oh, when you wish upon a star
Your dream comes true
Jesse McCartney's version of "When You Wish Upon a Star" retains the timeless message of the classic Disney anthem. The song, which scholars consider to be one of the most recognizable tunes worldwide, emphasizes the importance of having a dream and using it as a guide to success. The initial lyrics mention that wishes can come true, and the person's status or identity does not matter. The heart's desire is the only requirement. Subsequently, the words reveal that dreams should go beyond reality, allowing the person to aspire for the impossible. Any wish can be feasible if the heart is determined and bold. The song implies that every person has a destiny, and fate plays an essential role in getting there. It might seem challenging to achieve what one desires; however, luck may intervene and make it happen.
The song suggests that fate is kind to those who love and work hard for their dreams. It compares the realization of a dream to a boat appearing suddenly out of the blue when least expected. Fate becomes that boat, matching the timing of the universe to suit the dreams of people who believe. The song concludes that such hope and faith in one's desires allow them to come true. It also implies that faith and belief are just as important as hard work since fate can step in to see an individual through.
