The lead single from the album, Right Where You Want Me, began receiving airplay on July 11, 2006. McCartney released his third album, Departure, on May 20, 2008 in the United States and Canada. Musically, it is a departure from his early works, showing mature themes. The album has reached number 14 on the Billboard 200. The album's lead single Leavin' was released in March 2008, and reached number (10) on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, giving McCartney his highest-charting single to date. The single has been certified platinum by the RIAA selling over than 3 millions copies ,and over 2 millions downloads on iTunes, thus becoming McCartney's highest-certified single as of early 2009. He also did solo shows at theaters and small venues to support the album while on tour with Sparks.

Seen couples come and go
When people ask how we did it
I flash a picture of you
'Cause lookin' at you, it still feels like the day I met you
Lookin' at you, I'm still weak in the knees
Young love, it feels like I'm seventeen
So what if we're older than we're acting lately
Young love is all that we'll ever be
So hit the lights, crack the wine, baby lock the door
Slippin' out of our clothes, throw 'em on the floor
Dirty dancin' to our song on the radio
Young love, (hey!) is all that we'll ever be
You've always been something different
A cut above the rest
My number one with a bullet
You hit me right in the chest
'Cause lookin' at you, it still feels like the day I met you
Lookin' at you, still knocks me off my feet
Young love, girl, I'm still drooling like a baby
Young love, it feels like I'm seventeen
So what if we're older than we're acting lately
Young love is all that we'll ever be
So hit the lights, crack the wine, baby lock the door
Slippin' out of our clothes, throw 'em on the floor
Dirty dancin' to our song on the radio
Young love, (hey!) is all that we'll ever be
And we both know that we'll never find another (no)
That'll ever compare to you and me
'Cause with you it's like the fun is never over (hey)
Forever young we will be
Young love
Young love (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Young love, girl I'm still drooling like a baby
Young love, it feels like I'm seventeen
So what if we're older than we're acting lately
Young love is all that we'll ever be
So hit the lights, crack the wine, baby lock the door
Slippin' out of our clothes, throw 'em on the floor
Dirty dancin' to our song on the radio
Young love, (hey!) is all that we'll ever be.
In Jesse McCartney's song "Young Love," the singer reflects on his relationship and the enduring passion they share, despite time passing and their getting older. He acknowledges that they have been through ups and downs as a couple, but when people ask him how they managed to stay together, he shows them a photo of his partner. The sight of her still makes him feel as though he is back on the day they first met, feeling weak in the knees and totally enamored with her. The song celebrates this perpetual passion, with McCartney singing that they're "still drooling like a baby" and feeling like they're 17. When they're together, their love transports them back to those early, innocent days.
The chorus of "Young Love" is catchy and fun, emphasizing the joy and vitality of the love McCartney and his partner share. They may be older and more experienced now, but their love remains youthful and exciting. When they're alone together, they let their inhibitions fall away and get lost in the moment. Dancing to their favorite song on the radio, they are young again, and nothing else seems to matter. They both realize that they'll never find another love like this, one that knocks them off their feet and makes life feel like one long, wonderful party.
