If it just won't sing for you
'Cause all that's left has gone away
And there's nothing there for you to prove
Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
Oh, well, it seems like such fun
Give me back my point of view
'Cause I just can't think for you
I can hardly hear you say
What should I do?
Well, you choose
Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
Oh, well, it seems like such fun
Until you lose what you had won
Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
A fool of everyone
A fool of everyone
Take my photo off the wall
If it just won't sing for you
'Cause all that's left has gone away
And there's nothing there for you to do
Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
Oh, well, it seems like such fun
Until you lose what you had won
Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
A fool of everyone
A fool of everyone
The lyrics to Jet's song Look What You've Done tell the story of a relationship that has fallen apart. The singer is asking their partner to take down their photo because all that's left of the relationship has gone away. The partner has made a fool of everyone by letting the relationship fall apart and losing what they had won. The singer is asking for their point of view back, as they cannot think for the partner any longer. The singer is having a difficult time figuring out what to do and is asking the partner to choose. The chorus repeats the phrase "Oh, look what you've done" to emphasize how the partner's actions have hurt everyone involved.
The lyrics are a commentary on the consequences of not taking responsibility for one's actions in a relationship. The singer feels foolish for believing in the promises that were made and for trusting the partner. The chorus emphasizes the feeling of regret that comes with realizing the damage that has been done.
Overall, the lyrics to Look What You've Done convey a sense of heartache and disappointment in a relationship that has fallen apart due to one partner's actions. The song serves as a warning to those who may be tempted to ignore the feelings and needs of their partner.
