In 1987, bassist Todd Crew died due to a drug overdose in the Hotel room of Guns N Roses guitarist Slash. Coincidentally, Hanoi Rocks had recently parted ways after the death of their drummer Razzle, which allowed Sam Yaffa to fill the bass guitarist position. Yaffa, a member of one of the groups Jetboy had found most influential, was now a member of the band. Jetboy continued on into the 1990s before calling it a day. However, over a decade later, Jetboy reconvened, toured and recorded a new EP 'Off Your Rocker'.
Three songs from Feel the Shake were featured in the 1989 movie The 'Burbs, starring Tom Hanks. They were "Bloodstone", "Locked in a Cage" and "Make Some Noise". Additionally, two songs from Feel the Shake, "Feel the Shake" and "Make Some Noise" were also featured in the 1989 movie She's Out of Control.

Evil
Jetboy Lyrics

A strength that overpowers me
She's movin' in oh so quickly
On my back, like a snake
Is it some strange paranoia?
I can't tell, what do I feel?
Is it love or evil that's inside me?
It's not really evil but, love, I fear I don't know
Is it real what we have
'Cause it's driving me mad
Is it love, or is it evil?
Is she taking control
Am I losing my soul
She's an angel to hold but, man, she's evil
She may be kin, may be poison
But either way I got no choice
'Cause in my bed I've got to have her
She's a drug I can't refuse
She's in my blood, she's got me sweating
I can't work out how I feel
Is it love or evil that's inside me?
It's not really evil but, love, I fear I don't know
Is it real what we have
'Cause it's driving me mad
Is it love, or is it evil?
Is she taking control
Am I losing my soul
She's an angel to hold but, man, she's evil
The lyrics of Jetboy's "Evil" describe the struggle of the singer's emotions towards a woman who possesses a magnetic, yet ambiguous aura. The lyrics portray the singer's inner conflict about his feelings for her, unsure if it's love or evil that's driving him. He explains that he feels a force, a presence "on his back, like a snake," that is moving in quickly and overpowering him. Despite his confusion, he admits that he cannot resist her, describing her as a drug that he can't refuse. He further explains how he is sweating and that he is struggling to understand his feelings towards her. He wonders if what he feels is real and if he is losing his soul to her.
The song's lyrics capture the complexity of relationships where a person is torn between their attraction to someone and their fear of their intentions. One interpretation suggests that the song describes an obsessive relationship. The singer is obsessed with this woman to the point that he cannot control himself. He feels like he is being controlled by her and that their relationship is not healthy for him.
Jetboy's "Evil" was released in 1988 and was included on the band's debut album, Feel the Shake. The song was co-written by vocalist Mickey Finn and guitarist Billy Rowe, and it was produced by Duane Baron and John Purdell.

Definitv eine Band die völlig unterschätzt wurde in ihrem Genre. Ich bekam etwa 1995 durch Zufall dieses Album in die Hände und höre sie heute noch gern. Die hätten mehr Höhrer verdient damals...
