Hailing from Boston, Jillian began singing in her family’s home studio at the age of six. She recalls with a laugh, “My father had me record a song about saving the rainforests!” Nevertheless, her love of music was sparked, and she soon committed her life to the field. Developing herself first as a vocalist and performer, Jillian graduated with honors from the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Music, winning the George Castelle Memorial Award in voice... But a wandering eye led her to the arena of computer music, and she soon began to supplement her classical studies with compositional ones.
With her debut albums Origins and Through Sand and Snow, Jillian responds to the lack of lyric-centric works in contemporary New Age/World music. Allowing her powerful voice to soar through beds of exotic instrumentation, both albums rely upon her instrument and lyrics not only as the definitive lead, but also as an amalgam of other backing textures, enveloping the listener in her warm sound.
Jillian's music is being broadcast to more than 8 million listeners worldwide, spanning over 70 stations including XM and Sirius satellite radio - a list that is rapidly growing. Origins debuted at #8 on the New Age Reporter radio charts for two consecutive months and has been consistently ranking in the top 10 on numerous stations, while Jillian was named “Best Futuristic New Age Singer” on iNewAge.com, a reviewer dubbing her “better than Enya.” The album received the #1 New Age Album spot of the year on NewAgeMusic.nu, above a great many tried and true artists.
Jillian has also amassed a passionate fan base online. In the listener-voted music competition OurStage.com, she triumphed over twenty thousand songs to win the $5,000 Grand Prize, and has garnered the New Age/World Prize thrice over. With other awards including third place in the Indie International Songwriting Contest, Mystic Soundscapes’ Best of 2007 and 2008 Awards, and dozens of online features, Jillian Aversa is steadily becoming both a critical and popular favorite – and redefining what we think of New Age music along the way.

The Winds of Change
Jillian Aversa Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You might be.
If suddenly there's more at stake
than sand and sea.
You wait for the day
You wait for the day.
Call the rising sun,
For our paths are one,
Aren't they? (Aren't they?)
And when the rain falls frmo above,
To hide me,
It's in this feeling, in this love,
That we will be
One moment away,
One moment away.
Call the rising sun,
Call the winds of change.
For our paths are one,
Aren't they? (Aren't they?)
And if those threads, you made
Do fall apart
You know you'll always have my heart.
And when the mountain peak seems
Too high to climb,
I will, I will pull you every time.
The lyrics of Jillian Aversa's song "The Winds of Change" deal with the themes of hope, love, and perseverance. The first stanza of the song talks about the confusion one encounters when dreaming with open eyes, where reality and imagination blur. The next few lines convey the idea that something significant is about to happen, and there is more at stake than just physical elements like sand and sea. The singer then expresses the yearning for that moment to arrive.
The chorus of the song serves as a call to action or a mantra for the singer and the listener alike. They ask for help from the universe - the rising sun and the winds of change - to guide them on their path. The singer then affirms that all our paths are one, indicating that we all face the same struggles and need support at times.
The second stanza of the song describes how two individuals come together and find solace in each other's company. The metaphor of rain falling from above represents life's challenges and how this love can shield and comfort them. The singer emphasizes that they are always a moment away and can rely on each other's support.
The final lines talk about how people can create things that may fall apart but emphasizes that the person will have the singer's heart. The singer acknowledges that life can be challenging, but they will be there to offer support and pull them through tough times, no matter the obstacle.

If in your dreams you're wide awake,
If you feel like you're living in a dream while awake,
You might be.
Then it might be true for you.
If suddenly there's more at stake
If there's more at risk suddenly,
than sand and sea.
More than just losing sand and sea.
You wait for the day
You're waiting for something to happen,
You wait for the day.
You are waiting eagerly for that day to arrive.
Call the rising sun,
Ask the rising sun to show up,
Call the winds of change.
Ask the winds of change to blow,
For our paths are one,
Our paths are intertwined,
Aren't they? (Aren't they?)
Right?
And when the rain falls frmo above,
When it rains from the skies,
To hide me,
So that I can hide my emotions,
It's in this feeling, in this love,
It's in this sentiment, this love,
That we will be
We will stay true to each other,
One moment away,
We're very close,
One moment away.
Just a moment away from each other,
And if those threads, you made
And if the bonds you created,
Do fall apart
Disintegrate,
You know you'll always have my heart.
You know that you will always be loved by me.
And when the mountain peak seems
When reaching the mountain's top seems impossible,
Too high to climb,
Too high to go over,
I will, I will pull you every time.
I will be there to support you and lift you up.

I know this might sound silly, and maybe it's too much information for something such as a comment on a youtube song, but I think it should be said...
When I found this song, I was going through an incredibly rough patch about two weeks ago. I was borderline panic attacks for 4 days straight. I couldn't sleep because I was so stressed out and thinking so much. But, I would begin to listen to your music Jillian, and in particular this song. I was calmed by it, it's just so beautiful! Your music has a very profound affect on people, and I absolutely love it! Thank you so much Jillian for all your beautiful music! :)

I've just gotta say that although I haven't commented on all of your songs, I really do enjoy them!! I find myself coming back almost daily. They give a really relaxed, but driven feeling; you can just feel the emotion-- and with your voice, they're truly a hidden gem. Thank you for putting such wonderful music out there~ It's hard to tell by video views alone, but I sincerely hope your music has, or gains, the recognition it deserves.
