spaghetti straps upon a
marinara dress stiletto heels
a cross across your chest
come on in, you sure look pretty
the sheets are clean but the mind is dirty
straight from my lips
how love is blind
it's deaf and dumb and
crippled and unkind
If you show me yours
I will show you mine
turn around
cut a man some slack
i didn't drag you here to tickle your back
straight from my lips
goodness gracious
The lyrics of Jim Bianco's song "Goodness Gracious" describe the feelings of desire and lust towards a woman who enters his space. He begins by describing her outfit, "spaghetti straps upon a marinara dress, stiletto heels, a cross across your chest." He is clearly taken by her appearance and invites her in, telling her she looks pretty. However, he acknowledges that although the sheets may be clean, his mind is dirty. His desire for her is overpowering.
The next line, "how love is blind, it's deaf and dumb and crippled and unkind" suggests that the singer recognizes the irrationality of his feelings towards this woman. Love can be irrational, and it can be unkind, leaving a person hurt and crippled by its power. Nonetheless, Bianco confronts the woman and offers to show her his body if she shows him hers.
The closing lyrics, "turn around, cut a man some slack, I didn't drag you here to tickle your back, straight from my lips, goodness gracious." can be interpreted as the singer asking the woman to be understanding and patient with him, as he is only human and driven by his desires.
