Bleeding Heart
Jimi Hendrix Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Peoples, peoples, peoples
You know what it means to be left alone
Peoples, peoples, people
You know what it means to be left alone
Yeah
Lord it happened to day
Lord not even a call on my telephone
Understandin'
Lord a little love in the world is all I need
A little love and understanding baby
It's all in the world I need
Lose of love
A misunderstanding of a no good woman
Lord they've both caused my heart to bleed
All right

Every mornin'
Every mornin' the willows weep among for me
Every mornin' yes the willows weep among for me

The birds sang the love song
My baby's caused my heart to bleed

Overall Meaning

Jimi Hendrix's song "Bleeding Heart" is a poignant expression of loneliness and heartbreak. The opening lines, "Peoples, peoples, peoples, You know what it means to be left alone," offer a message of empathy and community to listeners. Throughout the song, Hendrix echoes the idea that feeling alone and unloved is universal, and that everyone can relate to the pain of heartbreak.

Hendrix's sorrowful vocals portray his personal experiences with a no-good woman who has caused him great pain. The lyrics convey his desire for understanding and compassion, and his belief that a little bit of love could go a long way. In the second verse, Hendrix describes the haunting sounds of nature, with the willows weeping and the birds singing love songs. These images add to the song's sense of melancholy and isolation.

Overall, "Bleeding Heart" is a soulful and emotional ballad that beautifully captures the pain and isolation of heartbreak. Hendrix's raw vocals and expressive guitar work make this song an unforgettable expression of human emotion.

That genre of music should never die. It should be built upon and improved.

@andrewdownie9677

Not improved Dude....preserved. where now can you get authentic sounds like this......... music evolves through styles melding together then branching off. You will never get a guitarist in the style of jimi again he was unique.

@amplify1802

Aint that the FUCKIN TRUTH!!!!But maybe nobody was talented or connected enough to make that happen?

@amplify1802

@@andrewdownie9677 I agree the 60's where the 60's the 70's the 70's ect ect. There is a time and place for musical innovation has always been right now, borrowing from the past for inspiration and growing it not replicating that is creativity

@amplify1802

@ALL THE BLESSINGS AND THE LOVE OF THE UNIVERSE I've been through this myself my whole life I've always been an outsider/outcast! You should probably STOP feeling SORRY for yourself and STOP trying to fit into society if they don't want YOU! FUCK'EM there is a lot of ways to make money without selling your soul or even dealing with the general populous.

@mgm553
