Born and raised in Delaware, Jimmie’s “dream” began early on as a boy in his church choir. He immediately fell in love with music and couldn’t get enough. He taught himself to play the guitar, drums, and piano while continuing to develop his chops as a singer. During his years of high school, Jimmie became extremely active in the musical theater program starring in presentations of “Footloose,” “Grease,” and “Peter Pan” and receiving rave reviews. This small taste of success was just enough to push the aspiring entertainer to a new level of excellence.
After high school and dedicated to his musical endeavors more than ever, Jimmie put together a demo showcasing his talents as a singer and songwriter He began taking trips to New York City, banging on doors, and passing around his music. To help offset some of these costs, he would enter talent contests with cash prizes and usually win. One such contest led him to the stage of the BET show, “106 and Park” and got the attention of a Nashville based producer.
Jimmie made his way to Tennessee and work began immediately. Within two days of his arrival, Jimmie and producer Kevin Wayne had written and recorded a song that solidified Jimmie’s sound and musical direction. Within a few months, major labels, managers, and agents were showing interest in the new artist, and then came a comet heading for the world.
“Comet,” Jimmie Allen’s first radio single impacting October ’09, is an exhilarating blend of Jimmie’s diverse musical influences from rock to pop to gospel and r n b. The choruses soar with huge distorted guitars while the verses pull you close to experience every intimate expression of Jimmie’s performance announcing his immense infatuation with a beautiful girl. As the drums pound, the bass pulses, and your head bounces. Handling A&R duties for the project is legendary EMIl executive Kim Stevens responsible for bands like Matchbox 20, Collective Soul, and Saving Abel. Mark Endert, mixing engineering for Madonna, Maroon 5, and The Fray, mixed the single for radio. It seems the stars are lining up for Mr. Allen. So watch the sky, there’s a comet on the way!

Good Times Roll
Jimmie Allen Lyrics

Brand new laces
Fresh pair of jeans, pocket full of blue faces
And I ain't rockin' nothin' basic
Vanilla Rollie on my wrist
Ice, ice baby
Somewhere we're rockin' go crazy
I need a good ride, with some good tires (yeah)
And I ain't talkin' Mercedes
Yeah, crank that truck up, load it up
With a few folks in my four by four
Seat way back, cold six pack
Window cracked, I got the good fire rollin'
Tennessee to Atlanta cross the street to Alabama
Yellin' out the window, "Roll tide roll"
Cuttin' through to Mississippi, got a lot of people with me
Through the swamps of the 504
(Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh)
Let the good times roll
(Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh)
Let the good times roll
Still kinda hazy (uh)
We still in this truck (goin' down, down, baby)
We're gettin' small town faded (uh)
Spinin' mud through the tires of my F-150
Yeah, crank that truck up, load it up
With a few folks in my four by four
Seat laid back, cold six pack
Window cracked, I got the good fire rollin'
Tennessee to Atlanta cross the street to Alabama
Yellin' out the window, "Roll tide roll"
Cuttin' through to Mississippi, got a lot of people with me
Through the swamps of the 504
(Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh)
Let the good times roll
(Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh)
Let the good times roll
Yeah, crank that truck up, load it up
With a few folks in my four by four
Seat laid back, cold six pack
Window cracked, I got the good fire rollin'

Let the good times roll
Jimmie Allen's song "Good Times Roll" describes the singer's desire to let loose and have a good time with his friends. The opening lines of the song talk about how he is dressed up to have a good time with a fresh pair of jeans and a Vanilla Rollie on his wrist.
The chorus emphasizes the need to have a good time with good vibes and no worries. The artist talks about wanting to go on a ride with good tires but he's not interested in a fancy Mercedes. He rather load up his four by four truck with a few folks and hit the roads to enjoy the good times. The song mentions a few places along the way like Tennessee, Atlanta, Alabama, and Mississippi where the group leaves a trail of fun yelling out "Roll Tide Roll" and cutting through the swamps of the 504.
The song has a fun, carefree vibe that encourages listeners to let their hair down and enjoy the moment. It's all about having a good time with friends and enjoying life to the fullest. Overall, Jimmie Allen delivers a good-time anthem that celebrates the joys of just being alive.
