@Karen Petersen I did not know that he had passed, I’m so sorry to hear that. Did you know him well?

My mother used to speak fondly of him, recalling that when he started out he worked at The Trocadero on George St, Sydney (I think) and that he would be called up on stage to sing with the band.

25-30 years later in 1975 my grandmother saw him, along with Darryl Stewart and Johnny O’Connor at an RSL club somewhere, and she bought their ‘The Singers’ album, which she had Jimmy sign for my mum (“Best wishes to Joan, Jimmy Parkinson”). Although mum has gone, I have the record, and still listen to it.
