Sou primo do Villegagnón
Voalá e çava patati patata
Boulevar sarará sou da praça Mauá
Dendê matinê padedê
Meu peticomitê bambolê encaçapo você
Taí seu Mitterrand
Marcamos pra manhã em Paquetá
Num flamboyant en fleur
Onde eu vou ter colher
Pompadú zulú
Manjei toá bocú
The lyrics to João Bosco's song, "Pret-A-Porter De Tafetá," tell a story of a night out filled with dancing and partying. The singer begins by watching a woman dance in a pret-a-porter, or ready-to-wear, dress made of taffeta. He then kisses his lucky charm and begins to dance, feeling excited about the approaching rendezvous. Despite being pushed by someone who smells of a tamandua, an anteater, he brushes it off and continues to have fun. He boasts that he is from a prestigious family, related to Villegagnón, a French admiral who established Fort Coligny in Rio de Janeiro in the 16th century.
