In 1998, O'Meara started her music career in the hip hop/rap group, 2-4 Family. She remained with the band for only one single release, Stay. In 1997 Jo was recruited to join a new pop group S Club 7. She was a prominent member of the British group, singing most of the group's lead vocals, as well as acting with the group in their own TV series and in their movie, Seeing Double. The band split in 2003.
In 2005 she signed a solo record deal with Sanctuary Records. She released her debut single What Hurts The Most in September 2005 followed by her album Relentless. Unfortunately both failed to achieve chart success and she left her record label prior to the release of a second single.
In February 2006 she took part in the BBC reality show Just the Two of Us. Her singing partner was Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain. The pair came third in the competition. The following year Jo appeared on Celebrity Big Brother with plans to use the shows popularity to relaunch her music career. She initially received a positive reaction from the crowd and was the initial favourite to win, however she became embroiled in controversy and was accused of racist behaviour towards fellow contestant Shilpa Shetty. O'Meara was the fourth housemate to be evicted and upon leaving the Big Brother house she found herself amidst public outrage. Numerous newspaper and television interviews followed with O'Meara apologising for her behaviour but denying any racial motivation.
Since November 2008, O'Meara has been performing in various nightclubs, universities and Butlins holiday camps around the United Kingdom along with fellow S Club members Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole as S Club 3. She has since joined Innocent Records and has recorded a second studio album These Little Moments due for release later in 2010.

Started as friends
They know it starts to show off
Feelings are changing
Find yourself thinking
That all of the time
They're on your mind
Wait awhile, a lonely call
Late night at home
A funny conversation
Leaves me contemplating
I wonder if you know, I want you so
I can't stop these feelings
Tearing me to pieces
hiding everything away
But can't you see my face
My tears relentless
Wish There Was Away
I wait for the day
you'll confide in me (yeah)
And we will talk all night
And when the time is right
I'd say, oh, what would I say
I can't stop these feelings
Tearing me to pieces
hiding everything away
But can't you see my face
My tears are relentless
Why don't I just say it
Everyday I pray it
this is meant to be
But don't you come to me
and i'll love you relentlessly (yeah)
Have I been here too long
Just to let you know I got it wrong (yeah)
I'm thinkin what should I do
Should I take a chance and end up losing you
I can't stop this feeling (feelings - ooh)
hiding everything away
But can't you see my face
My tears are relentless (yeah)
My tears are relentless
I can't stop this feeling
Tearing me to pieces
hiding everything away
But can't you see my face
My tears are relentless
Why don't I just say it
Everyday I pray it
this is meant to be
But don't you come to me
and I'll love you relentlessly
and I'll love you relentlessly
I'll Love You Relentlessly
The song 'Relentless' is about unrequited love and the pain that comes with it. The singer starts off as friends with someone and slowly begins to develop romantic feelings for them. As these feelings grow stronger, the singer finds themselves constantly thinking about this person. They have a chance to express their feelings, but instead, they hold back and hide everything away. The chorus highlights the internal turmoil that the singer is facing, with their tears being described as 'relentless'.
The second verse suggests that the singer is waiting for the right moment to express their feelings. They yearn for the day when this person will confide in them and they can talk all night. However, despite their hopes and prayers, the person doesn't come to them and the singer is left feeling helpless. The bridge raises the question of whether the singer has waited too long and whether they should take a chance and confess their love, even if it means risking their friendship. The final chorus conveys the singer's desire to love this person 'relentlessly', even if their feelings are not returned.
Overall, the song speaks to the pain and frustration of unrequited love, the fear of rejection, and the conflict that arises when emotions are left unspoken. It portrays the reluctance and hesitance on the part of the singer in expressing their true feelings and the mental and emotional agony they undergo.
