I had an old album...old record...not the same album cover as seen in this vid but...i gotta look for it. Hope i still have it in my collection. This album was a big influence and a big favorite of mine as a child. Thank you for posting this. Joan was at her best here. Folksongs and very obscure kinda gospel that didnt make you feel uneasy but made you feel like you could play and sing along and believe in your fellow  men and women. Love to you all and peace this new year. :)  I gotta look thru my records for this hehe! oh wow.....been years thank ya! I used to play this on guitar quite a bit as a girl. ~"Jen"

@mrshrend

Glad you like it - its hard to believe she was only 18 when this recording was made!  I like some of these even more than her later Vanguard recordings, and they're still not available except on places like ebay.

@reykjavik82

I had the same with a different cover

Saw Joan in a coffee-house in Cambridge, MA in '58! Barefoot! Cafe Mozart, I think.Saw greatness even then. Even had the original LP (Harvard Coop Label) which was alas "liberated" from my ratty ''62 Pontiac Tempest convertible on a snowy graveyard shift when I was an exec. at Macy's, NY. (Hand-penned serial #513). Not a collector of objet per so, I am so glad to have these CD reissues, I could dance, and do. O, Joan for Nobel Peace Prize.

@TheBrooklynbodine

Joan Baez has always been beautiful. She was 18 here (1959).

@7beers

Joan overpowers them like a steamroller.
