Slumber warm when night winds blow
May you always live with laughter
For a smile becomes you so
May good fortune find your doorway
May the bluebird sing your song
May no trouble travel your way
May no worry stay too long
May no tears be spilled
May old acquaintance be remembered
And your cup of kindness filled
And may always be a dreamer
May your wildest dream come true
May you find someone to love
As much as I love you
May you always live with laughter
Or smile becomes you so
May you always be a dreamer
May your wildest dream come true
May you find someone to love
As much as I love you

I was about 20 when I did my first show with Joan in the 90's, I was petrified and hadn't met her. I'm in a theater...When I did a quick change it wasn't my dresser in the wings, it was Joan (Star of the show!) in a beautiful beaded pink gown holding my jacket. She dressed me and pinched my cheek and said, 'knock 'em dead kid'. lol I remember going back on stage to do my last song saying, 'I've met Joan Regan and I think I'm in love!'... Wonderful kind lady. Every huge star that came to visit us on that tour, Joan made them come to my little dressing room and say hello. I miss her so much and she would be so proud that I did it. Her voice was exactly the same. Every time I hear this song I can see her beautiful smile. xxx

Yes, we did about 30 shows together, over a few years. I adored her, I was about 20-22 on the first one, Ronnie Hilton was the 'Boy singer' lol I didn't know them Roger lol But they took me under their huge wings and were wonderful and if I close my eyes I can see them now smiling and making sure I'd eaten and hugging me. I was very lucky to be with huge stars and I didn't even know. I'd love to find the vid of Joan singing at the Oscars, she told me about Bette Davis etc. Being there. xxx

I loved Joan. She taught me a lot about showbiz and I went on to have a wonderful career with her advice. LOL She would put her specs on and do a bossy voice, but with that beautiful smile! And I'd giggle. Joan was always so kind and lovely; I didn't know she was a huge huge star, she would make me eat and make sure I had a way to get back home to London lol. And even tho' she was older then, she was still beautiful, with an amazing figure. Her voice was exactly the same and never faltered. She just oozed class and talent. I miss Joan, she would fly in from California with other big stars, and her driver Jean was always lovely too. Does anyone know if Jean is still around? I am very very lucky! lol She hated when we had to do rehearsals/sound check at 4pm, when the curtain went up at 7:30! She would say, 'You must know these songs boys, they are older than you!' Then she'd laugh :) xxx

One of my all time favourite songs. I had the honour of meeting Joan after one of her performances at the Palladium. Don't think I'll ever meet a nicer person. RIP Joan.Thank you Nancy for posting.
