FIGHT
Jocko Willink Lyrics

"Does complacency come with age
And do I have the urge to back off?"
Negative
Negative
Back off?
Not happening
I hear that
"I'm over 40, I'm pushing 50"
Whatever
Bring it
Back off?
Negative
Not happening
In fact
I'm stepping it up
I'm training harder
Eating cleaner
I'm training more
I'm learning
And reading
And studying more now
Than I ever have in my whole life
Do I get dinged up?
Well of course I do
Do I take some injuries?
Yeah
You know what?
No factor
NO FACTOR
Deal with them
You know
You know what I hear?
I heard the clock
Ticking
That's what I hear
AND THE END IS NIGH
And time
Waits
FOR NO MAN

FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got
FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got
Everything you've got
Everything you've got
Every every
Everything you've got
Every every
FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got

You young guns out there
18 years old, 20 years old
24 years old
Listen
Life goes by
And it goes by quick
Don't waste those years
Don't waste them
Live them
I know you don't think you're going to live to be 30
Much less 40
But you are
And you will
And the earlier you get in the game
And get on track
The better life you're gonna have
Healthier
Wealthier
Stronger
Smarter
Better
Better
And if you're an old man
Like me
And you haven't gotten on track yet?
Get on track
Get on it
NOW

FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got
FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got
Everything you've got
Everything you've got
Every every
Everything you've got
Every every
FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got

Every
Everyone
Listening to this
Here's the deal
No complacency
NO COMPLAENCY
No backing off
No
Slack
Whatsover
FIGHT
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got
So
Like the end of a hard day
You can put your head down
With ease
Satisfied
That you gave it your best

FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got
FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got
Everything you've got
Everything you've got
Every every
Everything you've got
Every every
FIGHT!
Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got

Everything you've got
Everything you've got
Every every
Everything you've got
Every every
Everything you've got
Everything you've got
Every every
Everything you've got
Every every
FIGHT

Fight that ticking clock
With everything you've got

Overall Meaning

In this song, Jocko Willink reflects on the idea of complacency and whether or not it comes with age. He questions whether he has the urge to back off from his training and goals, especially since he is over 40 and pushing 50. However, he quickly dismisses this idea, stating that he is not slowing down but instead stepping up his training and learning. He acknowledges that he may get injuries, but that they are no factor and can be dealt with. He then encourages young people to not waste their years and to get on track with their goals, so that they can live healthier, wealthier, stronger, and smarter lives. The song ultimately encourages listeners to fight against the ticking clock of time and to give everything they've got to achieve their goals.

Props to both Jeff and Jocko, two talented competitors who have contributed much to Jiu Jitsu and the World. Both good friends as well. Monson's credentials are unquestioned, and no should ever question Jocko's skills or willingness to put it on the line!

N8 Witt

Thanks thirdly to Anadrol 50...jeff.

Asada Leone

Davis Barr Jocko had zero chance of surviving this. Jeff has fought Mark Kerr and Josh Barnett. He's forgotten more jiu-jitsu than Jocko knows.

Jesse Stevenson

I can't stand Monson's political beliefs, but I respect the hell out of his Jiu Jitsu.

C_R_O_M__________

Jesse Stevenson 100% with you!

Harpazo

I grew up in Olympia Washington and use to see Jeff in the gym. It was 20 years ago and he was a monster then.

Can definitely tell from their styles that they are both used to being the biggest, strongest guy in the room. Great match.

frankcastle7777

I agree 100 percent

Henry Taff

For real I remember I was always the smallest guy so my game came from my guard so comfortable on my back but when I got on top my mind would go blank just cause I hardly ever was there lol funny how your game develops thru the years.
But man you gotta love Jocko

At 0:56 they hit the table and would have kept going, because it's only a table.
