Party Weekend
Joe Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I've been a-waiting all week for something like you
Because it's Friday night, and everybody's in the streets
I say, come on, come on, come on with me
Hey
It's a party weekend
Gonna be some rock and rollin'
It's a party, a party, party weekend
It's a party, it's a party, party
It's a party, a party, party weekend
It's a party, it's a party, party
It's a party, a party, party weekend
I go here, I go there
Wherever it is, I'm gonna get my share
Because I got three days, I got three nights
Ain't nothin' gonna stop my appetite
Hey
It's a party weekend
Gonna be some rock and rollin'
Everybody's gonna get you
It's a party, a party, party weekend
Hey
I said, a-hey, little girl, what do you do?
I've been a-waiting all week for something like you
Because it's Friday night, and everybody's in the streets
I say, come on, come on, come on with me
Hey
It's a party weekend
Gonna be some rock and rollin'
Everybody's gonna get you
It's a party, a party, party weekend
It's a party, it's a party, party
It's a party, a party, party weekend
It's a party, it's a party, party
It's a party, a party, party weekend
It's a party, it's a party, party
It's a party, a party, party weekend
It's a party, it's a party, party
It's a party, a party, party weekend
I said, a-hey, little girl, what do you do?
I've been a-waiting all week for something like you

First heard Party Weekend at the Rocksy in Houston. When the DJ played it the dance floor filled completely. If you didn't get on the dance floor quick you had to watch from the bar. The crowd loved it.

Yes great version - the 45 gets a regular spot on my jukebox. JKC seemed to play every other week at DJ's on Greenville for a while there in 1979-80. Exciting times. Working as an illegal/token Englishman at Sound Warehouse. Did John Peel ever play the copy I sent him from Dallas? always wondered...

Both versions were played on WHFS, this one was on Weasels Party block on fridays, back when they were in Bethesda at 102.3 FM, when they found a new home at 99.1 in Annapolis they played the newer version.
