This song has everything that was great about the 1970s music. The warmth, the hopefulness, the inspiration, the heart, the soul.

@ParmiJohn

Amen to that.

@joeortiz9760

@13NJJACK

Just saw Joe and his band do this in Central Pk in NYC last night. Didnt matter if you hispanic,black,or white,Joe rocked the park. We love Joe,cause he's one of our own.

Thank god for SALSOUL.this track surely was a major revolution in Latin salsa funk in 1973' .deserving of its cult status and still a class floor filler.great post.

@WonderBOnTheOne

just saw him live last saturday (apr 16th 2011) at the Baltic Soul Weekender and this tune was cookin'!!!! Joe still has it!!!!

@mangasnegro

The man not only reached our latin brothers from the westcoast, he's also reached all latinos, african americans and anglos in the east. Yes definitely a unique brother.

@BIGSCFAN73

JOE BATAAN N CARLOS SANTANA FAVORITE ARTISTS!!!! THIS IS REAL MUSIC

@loosestudios

In 1973, he helped coin the phrase "salsoul," lending its name to his first post-Fania album. Along with the Cayre brothers, he co-founded Salsoul label, though later sold out his interest. He recorded three albums for Salsoul and several singles, including "Rap-O Clap-O," from 1979 which became an early hip hop hit.

@LIsMRMOTOWN

@dj2nu: This was originally done by Deodato as "Super Strut" in 1973, then redone as "Latin Strut" by Joe Bataan, just as Isaac Hayes did the original "Shaft" and Joe Bataan remade "Shaft" with a Latin flavor just before he released this.
