Bonamassa was born in Utica, New York. He started playing guitar at age four, encouraged by his father, who was an avid music fan and exposed him to British blues rock records by Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, greatly inspiring him. At 11 years old Joe was mentored and trained by American guitar legend, Danny Gatton. When he was 12 years old, he had his own band called Smokin' Joe Bonamassa, which gigged around western New York and Pennsylvania, including cities such as Scranton and Buffalo, but only on weekends since Joe had school on weekdays. Bonamassa played a crimson 1972 Fender Stratocaster he called "Rosie", which his father had bought in Utica, New York.
When he was 12 years old, Bonamassa opened for B.B. King. In the last 13 years Bonamassa has put out 15 solo albums through his independent record label J&R Adventures, of which 11 have reached number 1 on the Billboard Blues charts. Bonamassa has played alongside such artists as Stephen Stills, Eric Clapton, Blondie Chaplin, Foreigner, Buddy Guy, Steve Winwood, Warren Haynes, Solomon Hicks, and Derek Trucks among others.[4] His career highlights include performances at the Royal Albert Hall and has had three Grammy Award nominations in 2013, for his collaboration album with Beth Hart "Seesaw", in 2016 for the album "Live at the Greek Theatre" and 2022 for the album "Royal Tea". In addition to his music career, Joe Bonamassa runs a nonprofit organisation called the Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation, whose mission is to further music education by funding scholarships and providing music education resources to schools in need. in 2020, he added an extension to the foundation. Called Fuelling Musicians, it provides $1500 cheques to struggling musicians affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
in 2021, he broke his own record for having more #1 Billboard blues albums than anyone in history. The album "Time Clocks" clocked up his 25th #1 album.
He is also known for his enormous collection of vintage guitars and related gear.
You Upset Me Baby

28 in the waist,
44 on the hip.
She's got some crazy legs.
You upsets me baby.
You upsets me baby.
Like beein' hit by a fallin' tree,
Well, she's not too tall,
complexion is fair.
It knocks me out
the way she wears her hair.
You upsets me baby.
You upsets me baby.
Like beein' hit by a fallin' tree,
woman what you do to me.
Well, I try to describe her.
It's hard to stop.
I better stop now
in case I got a weak heart.
You upsets me baby.
You upsets me baby.
Like beein' hit by a fallin' tree,
woman what you do to me.
Yeah!
Yeah!
Try to describe her.
It's hard to stop.
I better stop now
in case I got a weak heart.
You upsets me baby.
You upsets me baby.
Like beein' hit by a fallin' tree,
woman what you do to me.
It upsets me baby.
It upsets me baby.
It upsets me baby.
It upsets me baby.
Like beein' hit by a fallin' tree,
woman what you do to me.
That's right.
Hoh!
It upsets me baby.
Ooh, upsets me baby,
Yeah, I'm tellin' you
she's so fine,
somethin' that you ought to see.
The lyrics to Joe Bonamassa's You Upset Me Baby are about a woman who has a stunning appearance that catches the attention of the singer. He describes her figure with measurements like "36 bust, 28 in the waist, 44 on the hip" and her legs with "crazy legs." He also observes that she is not tall but has a fair complexion and her hair is worn in a way that knocks him out.
The chorus of the song repeatedly highlights how the woman upsets the singer like being hit by a falling tree, and he cannot stop thinking about her. However, he realizes that he can't keep describing her any longer because it might affect his weak heart.
The song's message is about the singer's infatuation with a woman's beauty that upsets him in ways he can't explain. The lyrics are easy to understand, and the repetition of the chorus emphasizes how much the woman affects the singer. Overall, the song is a classic blues tune that highlights how love and attraction can overwhelm a person.

@Nautical_eddie I fully agree. I still love his new style too though but would be nice with a variety :D 1 thing more I'd love however is having many more live performances of him, he still has a lot but can never get enough of him live.
