The Outsider

I can hear the siren
And I, feel strong
I don't give a damn
I break
In my darkest hour
And its, too late
For the lion and the lamb
My flesh is torn
So take me back
Where I belong
So long
I've been elevated
In the skyline
These are the days
I'm the keeper
You know my name
Kill the reaper
Feed the flame
I'm a rider
Blood red sky
The outsider
'till I die
Last rite
Time to meet your maker
In the black light
Heavy lies my wake
The Outsider is a song about being an outcast and not fitting in with society. The lyrics suggest that the singer has had a difficult life and has experienced pain and suffering. The first verse talks about the singer being "long gone" and feeling strong, perhaps indicating that they have been on the fringes of society for a long time and have grown accustomed to it. The use of the word "siren" implies that the singer may have been in trouble with the police or other authorities. The line "I break in my darkest hour" suggests that the singer has been through tough times and perhaps turned to drugs or alcohol as a coping mechanism.
The song's chorus has a more positive message, with the singer stating that they are the "keeper" and that people should know their name. The line "kill the reaper, feed the flame" could suggest that the singer wants to overcome their pain and become stronger, perhaps by focusing on creativity (the flame) instead of destructive behaviors. The use of the word "rider" in the second verse may also indicate that the singer is trying to overcome their struggles by finding a sense of freedom and independence.
The final verse of the song seems to suggest that the singer is ready to face their mortality. They talk about meeting their maker and heavy lies their wake. This could be interpreted as the singer acknowledging the impact they have had on the world around them and preparing for their eventual death.
