You Don't Know
Joe Gilder Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You never had to go
To the ones you loved
And apologize
You say that you have been here
You say youve cried these tears
But you have never seen the view
You dont know
You dont know
You dont know
You dont know
What its like
You know destruction well
You know they gave you hell
They burned your house down that
You built in three days
In Joe Gilder's song You Don't Know, the lyrics speak about feeling misunderstood by someone who claims to understand. The first verse addresses the fact that the person being referenced never truly listened to anyone else's perspective, and thus never had to apologize for their actions or words. In the second verse, the individual claims to have gone through similar struggles as the person they are speaking to, but the singer feels that they have not truly experienced their perspective. The chorus repeats the phrase "You don't know what it's like," emphasizing the disconnect between the two parties.
The lyrics suggest a sense of frustration and isolation, as the singer feels that they cannot connect with the person they are speaking to. There is a sense of emotional depth to the song, which is enhanced by the musical arrangement featuring acoustic guitar and soft, melodic vocals.

As a Pro Tools & Logic user I have to say this software combines the best of both DAWs and some! Incredible development rate and features that Logic is so far behind on.

I just bought the faderport 16 and I'm switching from Pro Tools to Studio One myself. I only have the artist Edition, but most likely will upgrade very soon. Btw, great finished vocal take! This is the first video of you I watched (and I've watched many) where you sang.

@Tpir M I don't think so. I just checked on Studio one 5.1.1 and their update log notes and there is no mention of clip gain envelope or automation in project page
