I first heard this on a Farley BMX mix. It took me 15 years to actually find the vinyl! For this to be a simple track, it makes me very emotional. I can damn near cry when I hear it after a hiatus. Sheer perfection Mr. Joe Lewis. Thank you for your contribution to the culture.

I remember listening to this in my basement for an hour straight, staring at the record spin.

Yeah I remember Joe Lewis. For some reason I missed some of his music in the late 1980s but I remember him as a DJ doing parties and when he use to call Bobby Q Bobby (a local college DJ on WKKC) on sundays. He and Bobby were always roasting each other and it was funny. I've got some of those interviews on tape AND the one with him and Armando gettin' into it when Joe decided he wanted to retire from music. It's classic man.

We (JOE LEWIS / TARGET RECORDS CHICAGO) would like to thank everyone for the nice post. P.S. I'm returning to the "HOUSE MUSIC game". Thank you for the many years of house and this is truely "JOE LEWIS".

This reminds me of Farley Jackmaster Funk. He's the first DJ I ever heard play this track. on Saturday Night Live Ain't No Jive Chicago Dance Party. I used to have to stay up late just to hear him. They did that to make us listen.
