Joe was 14 when his Grandad, British Jazz Legend Terry Lightfoot, became terminally ill. Joe and his brother (Drummer) Ollie dug deep and performed with Terry and their mother, Jazz singer Melinda, with Terry Lightfoot’s All Stars at the prestigious Buxton Opera House, Three Generations on One Stage, Joe was just 14 years old at the time!
As with many young singers, he started developing his craft, by performing a mix of covers and originals on the local open mic circuit.
This approach worked well for Joe, as he soon picked up many gigs and accumulated a good number of YouTube videos.
In the Summer of 2013, Joe appeared at Open Mic Nights in London and soon acquired bookings as a featured artist at venues in Finsbury, Camden and Brick Lane.
Change Your Mind

For you to just walk out the door
What did all of your words mean
For you to go and never be seen
Tell me what were you thinking
For you to let my heart keep sinking
Change Your Mind
No I can’t
Paint your sky
Oh our love it ran so deep I came and swept you off of your feet
But I can’t
Change Your Mind
Look what you’ve done to me
Now you’ve broken everything (oh yeah)
There was a time when you cared the most
But now you’re gone and you’re just a ghost
Tell me what was going through my head
For me to think you’d come back to bed
No I can’t
Change Your Mind
No I can’t
Paint your sky
Oh our love it ran so deep I came and swept you off of your feet
But I can’t
Change Your Mind
No I can’t
Change Your Mind
No I can’t
Paint your sky
Oh our love it ran so deep I came and swept you off of your feet
But I can’t
Change Your Mind
No I can’t
Paint your sky
No I can’t
Change Your Mind
The lyrics of Joe Miles's song "Change Your Mind" tell a story of heartbreak and longing after a relationship ends abruptly. The first stanza reflects the confusion and disbelief the singer feels when their partner unexpectedly walks out the door. They question the meaning of the time they spent together and the significance of their partner's words before their sudden disappearance. The lyrics convey a sense of abandonment and the feeling of being left with unanswered questions.
The second stanza expresses the singer's desperation and frustration as they try to make sense of the situation, pleading for their partner to reconsider their decision. The line "For you to let my heart keep sinking" highlights the emotional toll the breakup has taken on the singer. They wonder what their partner was thinking, hoping for some insight into the reasons behind their actions.
The third stanza shifts the focus of the lyrics towards the singer's own feelings of devastation. They reflect on the impact the breakup has had on their life, feeling broken and discarded. The line "Now you’ve broken everything" conveys the magnitude of the heartbreak and the sense of loss the singer is experiencing. The mention of their partner being a ghost suggests that they have completely disappeared from their life, leaving behind only memories of their presence.
In the final stanza, the singer continues to express their inability to change their partner's mind or make them see things differently. They acknowledge how deeply their love was, symbolized by the line "our love it ran so deep." Despite their efforts to sweep their partner off their feet and make them reconsider, the singer realizes that they cannot control or alter their partner's decisions. The repetition of "No I can't" emphasizes the frustration and acceptance of their inability to change the outcome of the relationship.
Overall, the lyrics of "Change Your Mind" encapsulate the pain, confusion, and longing someone experiences when confronted with the sudden ending of a relationship. It explores themes of abandonment, self-reflection, and the realization that some things are beyond our control.
