In the mid-1970s, Venuti performed and recorded, again in the limelight: good examples of his latter-day recordings are the Chiaroscuro CD's Joe Venuti and Zoot Sims (CR(D) 142) and Joe & Zoot & More (CR(D)126). He died in Seattle, Washington.
Venuti was also a legendary practical joker.
My Honey's Lovin' Arms

They hold a world of charms,
A place to nestle when I am lonely.
A cosy Morris chair,
Oh, what a happy pair!
One caress,
Happiness
Seems to bless my little honey.
I love you more each day,
When years have passed away,
You'll find my love belongs to you only,
'Cause when the world seems wrong,
Then I know that I belong
Right in my honey's lovin' arms.
I love your lovin' arms,
They seem to hold a world of charms,
A place to nestle when I am lonely.
A cosy Morris chair,
Oh, what a happy pair!
One caress,
Happiness
Seems to bless my little honey.
I love you more each day,
When years have passed away,
You'll find my love belongs to you only,
'Cause when the world seems wrong,
Then I know that I belong
Right in my honey's lovin' arms.
Oh, when the world seems wrong,
Then I know that I belong
Right in my honey's lovin' arms.
In Joe Venuti's song "My Honey's Lovin' Arms," the singer expresses their love and appreciation for the embrace of their partner. The singer describes their partner's arms as a world of charms, a safe and comforting place to nestle when they are lonely. The mention of the "cosy Morris chair" also conveys a sense of warmth and intimacy in their relationship. One caress from their partner is enough to bring the singer happiness and a sense of contentment.
As the song continues, the singer declares their love for their partner grows stronger each day, and even as time passes, their love will belong to their partner only. In moments when the world seems wrong and everything feels uncertain, the singer finds solace and a sense of belonging in their honey's arms.
The song's message is simple but powerful, emphasizing the importance of love as a source of comfort and security in a world that can often feel overwhelming. The soothing melody and upbeat tempo of the song also evoke feelings of joy and happiness, underscoring the sense of contentment that comes with being surrounded by the love of someone special.

I'd always assumed the violinist on the original 1933 record (with the Mills Bros) was Venuti: but it turns out it was Matty Malneck.
