One day import my buddies and I were rocking out in the Bosun's locker to The Raunch Hands on cassette . BM1 came through in his khakis for his CPO initiation . Raunch Hands " What's The Word ? Smoking big fat hooters and some good ole black primo hash ..what a night. Now 65 and the memories were great. Later in 77 in Sonoma Ca. The eagles came into this little resteraunt sat next to us. First time I saw the James Gang was 1971 at Summerfest in Milwaukee. I was 15, my girlfriend and I took a Greyhound bus from Hammond Indiana $9.75 round trip! Partied all night with some people we did even know on Brady Street. Old mansions made into boarding houses full of hippies. Problem was my parent's didn't know anything about it. That had me grounded for 2 weeks, what a show!

The coolest thing I have found out about famous people is they are just people. I cannot recall being star struck by any “stars” I met. They’re usually super short, and super nice. Exception: Slash from Guns and Roses. Super rude, super short, teeth jacked up, and a Napoleon complex. The rest of GnR were super cool and over 6 ft except Izzy & Slash. I would have loved to party with Motley Crue back in the 80’s. Other than that, I would rather imagine what they are before the reality of what they are spoils my view of them.

+Pete Zereeah MTV was still YEARS away when Walsh left.....According to Walsh in the Eagle's biopic, he got tired of being the front man in all of his projects, but wouldn't join another project because none of them had the playing ability and style he liked, except for the Eagles, who wanted to adopt a more blues rock style, and lose the bluegrass/country vibe (to a point), and Walsh, whom they had played many gigs with before, was a perfect fit, and since he could continue to play his own hits with the Eagles, the money was better, and he didn't have to worry about being captain of the ship, plus his influence was welcome as well as his songwriting skills, he was a perfect fit.....But you're right, J.G. should have had a much bigger following, but maybe walsh wasn't as good of a businessman as he was a guitar player/ hotel room redecorator.....

Was the first rock song (1974) I ever learned. great teacher showed it to me. Has to arguably be one of the greatest intros and lead break ever. So simple yet brilliant

I saw them in 71 at the Boston Tea Party. So many great concerts to see in that era, wow. And all in small venues where could be right up close. But this one I saw right up close. I remember Walsh as the super talented wildly energetic longhair. He also didn't need the other guys, amazing people that 3 guys could put out such a sound. Kind of like Hendrix of Cream this is one of the best examples of what a tight rock trio can do with a great guitarist and singer.

I'm almost 65, and I remember these songs from High School. I'm not going to say it was the best decade for R&Roll, but it was the begining of it for me. I loved Hard Rock from this Era, and have loved it through all the years, and every decade adds its own layer. I can listen to Rock from the late 60s and from today. It changes, but deep down inside, it still has the same drive to it. Technology has added new ways to take that drive to new levels. Look and listen to how new artists can take a 70s hit, change it up, and it is like a Phoenix rising from the ashes. Listen to Disturbed version of "Sound of Silence", and Heart "Stairway to Heaven" just to name a few. It is not just 1 decade, but it is 1 genre that changed the world of music forever!!!

I as 19 years old and went to a small concert hall at a university in PA. Lol! I wore a short skirt. Sat on the floor trying to adjust my skirt. It was 1971! After these guys started to play.....what skirt!!
