Thinkin' About You
Joey C. Jones Lyrics

And the leaves were fallin' down softly
My cold hands needed a warm, warm touch
And I was thinkin' about you
But here I am lookin' for signs of leaving
You hold my hand, but do you really need me?
I guess it's time for me to let you go
I'll be thinkin' about you
When you sail across the ocean waters
And you reach the other side safely
Could you smile, a little smile for me?
'Cause I'll be thinkin' about you
I'll be thinkin' about you
I'll be thinkin' about you
I'll be thinkin' about you
The lyrics of Joey C. Jones's "Thinkin' About You" paint a picture of a person who is reminiscing about someone they used to love. The opening lines establish an ambient setting of a sunny fall day where leaves are falling silently. The singer describes how their cold hands are missing the touch of someone special, and that they are thinking of that person. However, the chorus indicates that the relationship is ending soon. The person feels that it is time for them to let their lover go, despite the fact that they still have feelings for them. The final verse implies that the person is moving away to sail across the ocean, and the singer asks that they keep him or her in mind during their journey.
Overall, the song is about someone who still has feelings for a person, but recognizes that the relationship has reached the end. The feelings of the singer are sincere and heartfelt, and the lyrics convey a deep sense of longing and sadness. The song is a great representation of the emotions that arise when someone has to end a relationship with someone they once loved.
