Another World
Joey Negro presents Akabu Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I want to see another world
For me and my child
My old lady, too
Maybe you
If we can
If we get to
I want to see another world
I want to see another world
I think you might see
A great ship up in the sky
Like an eagle, like a stallion
Might be a burning silver wheel
Let you know you can fly
Look up in the sky
Look up through the darkness
I think it might be love
I want to see another world
For me and my child
My old lady, too
Maybe you
If we can
If we get to
I want to see another world
I want to see another world
I want to see another world
When all the sky is darkness
When all the ground you know is gone
How the solar wind she blows
Snowy silver dragon sings the songs
Flying straight up to the sky
Great singing engines sigh and
Drive this metal fragment into time
Let's try to get along with each other
Sister and brother
Father and mother
Everyone's a lover
I want to see another world
For me and my child
My old lady, too
Maybe you
If we can
If we get to
I want to see another world
I want to see another world
Let's try to get along with each other
Sister and brother
Father and mother
Everyone's a lover
Get along with each other
Sister and brother

Father and mother
Everyone's a lover

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Joey Negro presents Akabu's song "Another World" are a call for unity and hope. The singer expresses his desire to see a new world, a world of love, peace and understanding where everyone can coexist in harmony. This world is not just for him and his family, but for everyone who can join him on this journey. He imagines a new world with a great ship up in the sky, perhaps a symbol of the power of unity to transcend differences and take us to a new level of understanding. The ship is described as "a burning silver wheel" that lets you know "you can fly", suggesting that with the right mindset, we can overcome our limitations and reach new heights.

The second verse continues with the theme of a new world that emerges from the darkness. The singer invokes cosmic imagery of the solar wind and a snowy silver dragon to describe the journey to this new world. He sees a metal fragment that is driven into time by "great singing engines", perhaps a metaphor for the power of music to transport us to another realm. The chorus repeats the message of hope and unity, urging us to get along with each other and embrace our common humanity.

Overall, "Another World" is a song that speaks to the human desire for a better world. Its lyrics use vivid and imaginative language to describe a journey of transformation. The song's message is one of unity and hope, reminding us that we can build a better world if we work together.

Thanks for posting this house classic, and what a sample from the late master John Barry. We love this stuff and had the night of a long time seeing Mr. Barry at the Royal Albert Hall with a full orchestra in May 1999. 25 minutes of Bond stuff and a bus-load more of his work. Cost Alison & myself a fortune as both sets of parents with us, but we don't care - the man was a proper genius. He managed to win 5 or 6 Academy Awards for his soundtracks - that's just showing off ! Have a good weekend and keep dancing. Best.

@andrewhutchins2750

It was actually only 5 Oscars, including 2 for "Born Free". Keep safe and sound.
