I come back to this trailer every year or so. The first time nearly brought me to tears. Not the least bit ashamed. The presentation, music, nostalgia then the explosion of the reveal giving us older fans exactly what we’ve been trying to explain just why Sonic was so awesome in the 90s. This game did exactly that and years later still stands tall as the best Sonic quite possibly since Sonic The Hedgehog 2… maybe better.

It will doom Sonic; just because it has sprites, doesn't mean that it will automatically be good. It's like saying that Federation Force is the next natural evolution of Metroid. Just like how Federation Force will doom Metroid; this game will be the end of this decaying old series that no one likes; anymore. Why do you think they published a game they knew was completely broken (Sonic Doom) and lied about learning their mistakes from Sonic 06? This will be the death of this old series. I hope some day that a much better company can give this old series a proper revival; both 2D and 3D.

As an avid diehard Sonic fan, I can't help but be AMAZED at this reveal. I feel this was the perfect route for Sonic to go. A lot of games have revisited their roots in recent years to revitalize gameplay and find new answers (Mario, Zelda, Tetris, Batman, etc...). If Sega can pull this off, Sonic can finally break the chains that have held him down for so many years, maybe even blast away the doubt that most of our fanbase harbors for him. I'll be cheering on Sega this time.

The music for this trailer is called "Checkpoint," and I couldn't agree more. He's not finished racing, so let's trust him one more time. Y'all thought Sonic was down for the count, but he's still the fastest Hedgehog around, and I'm happy to be a Sonic fan. Let's cheer on our hero, and collect some rings while we're at it.

I love this trailer, and how the music progresses. When it reaches its peak, at the characters designs I smile. But when it soothly transitions to the Logo... The combination of the music toning down and just seeing the classic Logo with a new twist (get it? Because Sonic spins before its nostalgic finger pose) makes tears of joy stream through both my cheeks. It's a beautiful trailer, alright.

This is a damn good trailer. Captures that 90's nostalgia, and is fun and enjoyable, while being simple and to the point. I'm really hoping for great things, and seeing as how CW/HC are behind this, I honestly can't see how it could get messed up.

I don't know about you all, but I for one am enthralled about this. Wowza!

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first, too. However, the animations, the graphics, the return of physics and agile movement/precise platforming (dear God, these two especially!), and the new platforming opportunities have me hooked and hyped. That absolutely beautiful Title Screen animation of Sonic's is magnificent, in my opinion.

I especially loved going into/launching out of that truck. I love it when we get to see elements of the Sonic world that make it seem more like an actual world, with people and businesses, and I especially love it when they can be used in gameplay. I also really like that boss- the one with the wrecking ball- and the fact that we'll finally be able to hit the wrecking ball!

I'm really excited for this. I already feel like I'll want to give it a run, and probably buy it, once it comes out. And if it turns out there's also a story, I am sold as a guaranteed customer. For me, one of my favorite elements of Sonic games from Sonic 3 and Knuckles onward, and one of the main reasons I'm a fan, is the stories of the main installments, and the Sonic fictional universe.

Sonic was always an important part of my childhood. He was someone I always wanted to be: brave, outgoing, positive, heroic, strong, and most of all, FAST. But as a Sonic fan I knew about his downfalls: Black Knight, Werehog, Shadow's game, Sonic 06, and Sonic Boom. When I got Sonic Boom for my fourteenth birthday, I was pretty excited. I thought Sonic needed a fresh new start, something different. However, I was wrong. My hopes for Sonic were nearly crushed after that game, I even almost gave up on him... But then, came Sonic Mania! Sonic didn't a reboot or new characters, or even giving a different character there own game, but perhaps WE needed a reminder of what made Sonic an iconic speedy blue hedeghog we all know. He may had some fails, he may have some haters, and he may even have one of the worst fandoms of any franchises. But, he helped me LIVE through my hard times, and I LEARNED that our ups and downs don't define us. It's what our determination does. Sonic as the character never gives up, and Sega and Sonic team haven't given up on him either, so why should I give up on the hero who I grew up with and inspired me. Thank you Sega for letting Sonic Mania happen. You saved my hope for the Blue Blur.

I'm not just crying about the nostalgia, I'm crying about fans getting hired, for REAL people being willing to gather in a party and scream their heads off in excitement, those people... So what? Throw out decades worth of personalities and characters just for the sake of pleasing outdated clucks like you who want Sonic to be like Mario? unchanging and do nothing but throw out remake after remake?

It would be awesome if they bring back zones from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, with both acts music remixed. My favorites were Angel Island, Hydrocity, Flying Battery, and Lava Riff.
