My father played this song for us on Christmas morning every year, cackling the entire time. I also have a speech disorder that causes stuttering, which only made this song 10x funnier. I used to not be able to make it through the song without laughing, but now it brings tears to my eyes remembering how much joy this silly song brought to my family. I will play it every Christmas until the day I die. Rest easy Dad, it’s not the same when you’re not here with me.

The DJ's didn't have permission from Warner Brothers, who owned the Looney Tunes name, so the trio came up with a made-up name "Seymour Swine & The Squealers" for the one-off performance.

I have a speech disfluency ("stuttering") and I think this is the funniest damn song! We're not laughing at Porky's speech, we're laughing at his total conviction that he's the second coming of Elvis. When he stops singing, lowers his voice and speaks sweet nothings, not even that woman's helpless screams of laughter can stop him. He plows right on. That's what's funny, like Pepe le Pew's unshakeable confidence that he's God's gift to kitties. Porky and Pepe are more than content with their performances, so we never have to feel sorry for them. Porky surely walks off stage, thinking, "Nailed it!"

BEST cover of Elvis's rendition hands down, no contest! I don't think anybody will argue that. Elvis would be so proud of Porky. He probably was all shook up was myself. This tune is priceless. I always risk of cracking a rib these Christmas festivities. It's alright and well worth it.

As a child, my beloved Mother would play her Elvis Christmas album, and I thought Blue Christmas was awful. It literally made my ears hurt.
Later in life, I heard this version, and loved it. It brings me loving memories of my Mother.

that was the one & only Mel Blanc , came to the Q105 studios once in The Tampa bay area & he sang this blue Christmas since he was the voice of Porky Pig & they recorded it at the studio , can't remember what year it was , but they said everybody was cracking up laughing , this was a few years before Mel Blanc died

Denny Brownlee was the singer... a fantastic character voice over artist, singer and actor. I worked with him for 10 years. This was from his time on the john boy and billy.

RA, just googled and found the Denny Brownlee website with the story of this recording. Damn, so sad to come so close to a huge hit and not be able to ride the wave, as the site noted. It's immortalized as a Christmas classic now, so it will continue to play and make people laugh. Other than that, it sucks that he didn't get the credit he deserved.

This is the late, great Man of a Thousand Voices Mel Blanc captured on tape clowning around in the studio many years ago. We don't know who played the guitar or kazoo, but probably not Blanc. The laughter comes from staffers and colleagues in the control room. If you don't laugh out loud at this, you're just a Grinch, period.
