Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer
John Clayton His Orchestra and Chorus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows

All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say
Rudolph with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all

Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say
Why Rudolph with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer

You'll go down, down, down, down, own
In history-why

Overall Meaning

The song Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer tells the story of a special reindeer who is different from all the others. Rudolph has a bright red nose that glows, which causes the other reindeer to laugh and call him names. They exclude him from their games and activities, making him feel sad and left out. However, on a foggy Christmas Eve, Santa Claus comes to Rudolph and asks him to guide his sleigh using his glowing nose. Rudolph agrees, and the other reindeer are amazed by his unique talent. They begin to accept and appreciate Rudolph, proudly rejoicing in his glory as they sing the famous line "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, you'll go down in history."

I listen to Christmas music pretty much all year round but once Christmas is over, I need some time off. This usually lasts a couple of weeks / months. With this record, I’m ready again ! Thank you..,
