My sleeping has been annoying, body not engaged with anything.
This began to play on my YouTube TV & I have just woken.
This polyphonic choral is making me feel so relaxed, happy, extremely sad. Very sad, then inspired, tearful.
This is the music of the 15th Century? (Is it?) - I love it so much.
I went to an all boys school, rugby football, engineering, physics, chemistry, biology usual lessons.
There was no music.
We had a German teacher who taught maths but this one day he recruited a boys choir.
I loved it.
Cut along story short, (thank God!) - we amalgamated with a school close by, boys & girls Music was on the timetable for the other pupils, not for us boys in the school I was in.
Thru my questioning, asking & presenting a serious argument I should do music, it was agreed.
My 1st lesson was Polyphonic music, instruments & voice.
Gregorian chant.
I was in my element.
Listening to this has taken me back 44 years to me being 11 years old.
I appreciate the dates might be wrong that I mentioned but the harmonies, the everything - I cannot thank you enough for posting this.
In fact, just learned something about myself, I can see why I took a delight when first hearing Mozart & his choir & Mass.

Anyway enough of me.

Thank you so much.

Music appreciation fun fact: The intense spirituality of the renaissance gave rise to some of the most moving sacred music ever written.

When one makes music for something other than themselves, their music transcends and becomes something truly special
