On October 3, 2003, Feldmann's house was raided by the FBI in connection with a campaign against Jerry Greenwalt, the manager of the Los Angeles Department of Animal Services. Greenwald had been targeted by animal rights activists and his car and house had been vandalized. Animal Liberation Front claimed responsibility for the crime. Upon the raid of Feldmann's house by 30 agents, items were taken that were believed to have been related to the campaign, but the charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence. Feldmann sued over the incident and won.
The incident led to the writing of a song, Iron Fist, in which Feldmann expresses the opinion that the United States is a police state and that the FBI, and possibly police department, are tools of the rich to suppress the poor. The song was a track on Goldfinger's 2005 release album Disconnection Notice.
Falling Down
John Feldmann Lyrics

The war that I've been fighting
Start to fall
But I'm still standing here
Behind the wall of dying flame
I can't forget
Face to face
With hopes of longer days
To feel something we should save
I stand alone I'm on my own
My hands will bleed
I'm holding on to what is gone
What's left of me?
I'm falling down
But I should find my strength in this
A light
The push to reconnect my heart
For what it's meant to give
I stand alone
I'm on my own
My hands will bleed
I'm holding on
To what is gone
What's left of me?
Walk
Fall
Stand again so I can
Walk
Fall
Stand again so I can
Walk
Fall
Stand again so I can
Fall
I stand alone
I'm on my own
My hands will bleed
I'm holding on
To what is gone
What's left of me?
The lyrics to John Feldmann's song "Falling Down" revolve around the theme of perseverance and finding strength in the midst of adversity. The first verse acknowledges the weight of a long and difficult battle, but the singer insists on standing firm, even as the flames of war rage on. The second verse hints at the possibility of a brighter future, face-to-face with the prospect of hope and healing.
Despite the overarching impression of defeat and struggle, the chorus suggests a glimmer of optimism. Even as the singer admits to "falling down," they also acknowledge the potential for growth and resilience. The repetition of "Walk, fall, stand again" in the bridge emphasizes the cyclical nature of this journey, highlighting that even when we stumble, the key is to keep moving forward. Ultimately, the song posits that although we may face setbacks and lose a part of ourselves along the way, we can still find the strength to carry on.
Overall, "Falling Down" is a powerful testament to human resilience, showcasing the power of perseverance in the face of adversity.
