To pull the trigger on me
Said, I know a little girl who can't seem
To pull the trigger on me
She gonna give me up
But she can't seem to let me be
I'd like to say my baby picked me up
I'd like to say my baby picked me up
Put me down
She was never really mine
So I was really always on the ground
Wish I would wax her wicked
When she won't want to walk away
Wish I would wax her wicked
When she won't want to walk away
When I'm wondering why I'd want her waiting
Well to wish her, I wouldn't say
And I know a little girl who knows
Just how to make me burn
I know a little girl who knows
Just how to make me burn
Ain't supposed to play with matches
You'd think someday that I might learn, oh
Said, I know a little girl who's longing
Just to set me free
Said, I know a little girl who's longing
Just to set me free
She knows the gun is loaded
But she can't pull the trigger on me
The lyrics to John Popper's song "Trigger" tell the story of a man who is in a complicated relationship with a woman who seems to want to end things but can't seem to let go completely. He speaks of a "little girl" who can't pull the trigger on him even though she wants to give him up. He also reveals that he wishes he could make her stay when she wants to walk away. He admits to being burned by her before and acknowledges that he may never learn not to play with fire. The last verse suggests that the woman knows she has the power to set him free, yet she can't seem to bring herself to do it.
This song can be interpreted in different ways depending on one's own experiences and perspective. It could be about a man who is caught in a toxic relationship with a woman who can't decide whether to leave or stay. Or it could be about the internal battle within oneself when trying to let go of someone who is causing pain but also providing comfort. The theme of being unable to pull the trigger can refer to both the woman's inability to end the relationship and the man's inability to move on.

Good to hear from you too. I still hope to do some more let's plays in the future, but I recently had a kid so finding the time to sit and record gets tricky. Not impossible though.
I'm trying to remember to record little projects that I work on, like cleaning up my mixer, and I generally want to keep making shorter videos just to be more active on here.

Love the aesthetic with the background. Green screen right?

I've been messing around with greenscreens for probably almost 10 years now. Building virtual sets and doing live effects for an imagined show/podcast that I never ended up making. I think the only time I've used them in a video was with my mixed reality HTC vive video back in about 2015, and that was again mostly just a fun experiment/proof of concept.
I had to move out some instruments to make room for a new baby and as I was constructing my "man-cave/studio" I figured the screens might come in handy some day.
